Go On - Believe: See What It Gets You

"Screw you and your God. Look how your God didn’t help you."

-- Brent Turvey, a criminal profiler and private forensic scientist, on the message a killer might have been sending to a female pastor - a message many (if not most) people refuse to accept or entertain - even after the killer stripped the pastor nude, severely mutilated her body, and then left her to be found in a crucifix position, only to have it all be reported later as O.K. News.

And, by George, that kid is creepy,...

You'll NEVER Get There From Here

"Craig thought [the peace symbol] was associated with the hippies and that hippies were discredited,..."

-- Jim Buckmaster, CEO of Craig's List, on the only thing he and his boss, Craig Newmark, have ever disagreed on - Got that? How, out of all the issues in the world they have to deal with, hippies and the fucking peace symbol were the cause of their only fight? - adding one more brick in the wall, and keeping me Wired.

That crazy photoshop of "Your Moral Leader" as Vishnu came from, my buds' blog, Luke Ford.

Chickens

"With the deaths of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy and Michael Jackson, the summer of '09 marked the merciful ends to Camelot and Neverland, iconic American fairy tales whose story lines should have come to merciful ends long ago when their charismatic protagonists took dark and irredeemable turns.

Our country was not built to support blood dynasties or to elevate the rich and famous to a higher ethical or constitutional plain. But through the power of celebrity, Mr. Kennedy and Mr. Jackson worked the media to twist truths. They manipulated their constituencies and fans to obscure their misdeeds. They played the faithful to confer this manufactured innocence on the rest of us. And, in the end, they placed themselves above the law.

My condolences go to the Kennedy and Jackson families, who should not be stained by the sins of their kin. But there is no time like the present to ensure that those masterfully produced, over-the-top, all-star televised funerals don't serve to canonize talented and charismatic men who failed to own up to their public wrongs and who continued to flaunt the behaviors that got them into trouble.

Given that President Obama's flailing medical care reform movement is in the process of being given new life under the fallen senator's name, our national health now depends on talking honestly. As Mr. Kennedy's political defenders would put it, it's time to speak truth to power."

-- Andrew Breitbart, exposing how NewAge thinking "works" - y'all got "played" by "fairy tales" to cover "dark and irredeemable turns" - and, like me, insisting only the truth will set you free, in The Washington Times.

Even For Hollywood: This Isn't Twisted Enough?

"The Venice film festival has capitalism in its sights this year, with premieres of Michael Moore's documentary on the U.S. economic meltdown and a drama starring Matt Damon as a corrupt corporate whistleblower.

[George] Clooney, who has a home in Italy and is a local favorite, appears in 'The Men Who Stare at Goats,' about a reporter who stumbles across a U.S. military unit in Iraq which employs paranormal powers on its missions."

-- Mike Collett-White, with news that's shocked me - because, not only did I discover the book a long time ago, but I didn't know this Boomer NewAge disaster had been made into a movie - a situation which, of course, Hollywood decided to play as a comedy - and (leave it to those lying liberals to twist shit) the real story has nothing to do with Iraq - all showing how much news can get left out, even if you're relying on Reuters.

The Crazy Black Man Wins Again (I Told You)

"A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 57% would vote to replace the entire Congress and start all over again. Overall, these numbers are little changed since last October."

-- Rasmussen Reports

Added:

"The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 30% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -11."

Boo-fucking-Hoo.

Here's One Time When Taking Something Away - Instead Of Taking Something - Is All That's Needed To Fix This Problem Right Up

"People don't like Gavin Newsom."

-- Brian O'Connell, finally saying the words I've been longing to hear - and I've been waiting a long, long time - because, like the current mayor of Los Angeles, the adulterous Antonio Villaraigosa (and President Barack Obama, too) NewAge Newsom's adulterous tenure has been a-bit-more than sickening, to this American Spectator.

The Saddest Thing I've Read Today

"Adultery is not about sex or romance. Ultimately, it is about how little we mean to one another."

-- Leonard Michaels, writer (deceased) on what's behind the 50% divorce rate - and all that "self-improvement" (always about yourself) "peace and love" (lies) and "we're all one" talk (delusional thinking) - introduced to American culture by the hippie/feminist/NewAge Baby Boomers, and recorded by TIME.

If They Only Had A Brain (They'd Still Be Stupid)

"President Barack Obama has a neat trick that he plays over and over again. He used it in the campaign, and now regularly uses it as President.

It is the classic "straw man" argument.

What is a straw man argument? It is an argument that bases its rationale on a fallacy or misrepresentation of your opponent's beliefs. Mr. Obama is a master of this.

It's a classic political maneuver - when you are in trouble, create a crisis and then create a straw man to blame for the crisis. Mr. Obama does this on a regular basis."

-- Pradheep Shanker, accusing Chump-Change of doing something that seems to infuriate his defenders when anyone else does it - of course, when the president does it he's brilliant and they defend him even more - making he and his defenders hypocrites, all of which we can just refer to as Associated Content.

"Democrats often complained about George W. Bush’s use of the straw man argument, but now President Obama regularly adopts the rhetorical device."

-- Helene Cooper, wanting to make sure the Democrats' hypocrisy is clear - like anyone needs to clarify that liberal NewAge Democrats are not just hypocrites but notorious hypocrites - even to those at The New York Times.

"This is the same kind of empty, false rhetoric he employed in his campaign—attacking stances that no one has espoused, and no one even would espouse. The very definition of a straw man argument."

-- Charles Johnson, also asserting what Pradheep Shanker did in the first quote - Chump-Change's campaign supporters, and now his defenders, fell for (and didn't mind) the straw man argument when "The One" employed it - so, now, it would be best if they'd shut-the-fuck-up, and/or avoid reading anyone paying attention, like me or Little Green Footballs.

Black Boys, White Girls, Peace, You Know,...

"IN THE MAIL — well, in the sense that they’ve put it in the mail, anyway — is Michael Leahy’s new book, Rules for Conservative Radicals. He urges combining the tactics of Saul Alinsky with the morals of Martin Luther King."

-- Glenn Reynolds, seemingly unaware that's what I do already - now where's all the white bitches? - but endorsing it none-the-less as a political tactic, as the Instapundit.

Finger Up (Thumbs Down)

"People look at the United States as a country that has changed it's way and elected someone from Kenya and Kansas, I'll put it like that."

Let me put it to you, Rep. Watson, another way: Do you think I give a shit? This is my country - not theirs - so how they look at it bears no weight what-so-ever, on what happens within it, where I live. You got that, you stupid Communist-loving ignoramus? Oh - and speaking of putting it to you - here's a word to conservatives and your constituents:

Target this stupid bitch and vote her out of office. Then pack her fucking bags, put her in a basket, and send her on the tide to Cuba where she belongs. Get her the fuck out of here.

Make her life hell.

No Relation

"Just 25 percent of the country supports the president's plans, and if you polled the president's own family, it's not obvious he'd do any better."

-- Michael Goldfarb, discovering Chump-Change ain't too popular with his own folks - and they ain't got a lot of Hope either - but, instead of that being unusual, it seems to be The Weekly Standard.

Marching Into Oblivion (Finding Nothing There)

"Liberals and, shamefully, liberal oriented media — most of them — made the mistake they keep making about Sarah Palin: because she didn’t go to Princeton she’s incapable of seeing or cutting to the heart of the matter so shrewdly. They had a chance to respond as [Joe Conason] did: put her on the spot by asking her exactly what she’d do about existing insurance company 'death panels.' Instead, they didn’t believe she was sophisticated enough (like them) to make the point she was making.

And then the facts began to leak out, as even the media began to read the bill and its implications and backtrack on its deeply flawed literal-to-the point of stupidity 'fact checks'– and people got legitimately outraged at being treated like Sarah Palin: too dumb to understand. When in fact they — the liberals and the media — were the ones whose knee jerk reactions were ignorant.

Of course the overreaction by genuinely ignorant right-wingers ('I don’t want the government to mess with my Medicare') and the thuggish, lynch mob behavior at town halls (boasting of shouting others’ down and other mob tactics, Hitler mustaches etc., rather than making rational arguments and respecting other citizens) including the terrorist tactic of bringing guns to town hall meetings, showed that the right could squander an advantage in legitimate debate by making an ugly spectacle of itself.

Nonetheless, when the history of the whole misbegotten health care reform effort is written, Sarah Palin has to be given credit for stopping it on a dime — and the snotty liberals who underestimated her should be held responsible."

-- Ron Rosenbaum, making a distinction between "Dumb and Dumber" - and finding the condescension of his fellow libs makes them the reeelly stupid ones - since exposing who's asleep-at-the-wheel is the job of Pajamas Media.

Waste Not Want Not (Gimme All You Have Got)

Musician John Mayer offers $25,000 for an old mug shot (above) House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has launched an urgent effort to raise $100,000 by Monday to help combat what she calls GOP 'smears' about health care reform - both during a recession - while the owner of Papa John's pizza can offer $250,000 to find his old Camaro, yet many continue to wonder why we're going broke. Or why celebrities and politicians can't seem to help America's poor with direct cash donations - from their own pockets - like they do for foreigners. Or why few donate to this blog (yea, you knew I'd go there, didn't you? Didn't you?) with it's decidedly conservative, pro-American bent,...

Maybe it's because this country has too many frivolous, impractical, anti-American assholes in it, who are, both, in power and also full of shit.

That's my theory anyway.

Can You Hear Us: We Hear You (Loud And Clear)

"Right-wing rage has returned. It was up at my place for the weekend. But it's back, and it's not like right-wing rage ever really went away. It didn't, as you would say,...'move on.'"

-- P.J. O'Rourke, showing he's up on the NewAge lingo - and how stupid it's so-called meaning is - though it ain't part of The Weekly Standard.

The Lyin' Of The Boomers, The Lyin' Of The Senate (And What They Were All Lyin' About)

"[Ang Lee] turns something that previously looked sloppy and drug-induced into something joyous.

Throughout, Lee aims for a feeling - that specific sense that sometimes comes over us when we're young, of moving through a golden moment and knowing it. And so the scene in which our hero, Elliot (Demetri Martin), takes LSD in a van with a hippie couple, seems neither squalid nor dangerous, but rather like some warm and cozy rite of passage."

-- Mick LaSalle, enjoying another telling, and reselling, of the story of Woodstock - a lie our nation can do without hearing again - in a movie review for The San Francisco Chronicle.

"Phillip Craig Garrido was already known as an oddball who said he could channel the voice of God through a makeshift box, but on Thursday, the eccentricity took on an aura of horror.

Eighteen years ago, authorities said, he kidnapped 11-year-old Jaycee Lee Dugard on her way to catch a school bus in South Lake Tahoe. Ever since then, they said, he kept her prisoner in a squalid backyard compound near Antioch, raping her and fathering two daughters by her - the elder of whom is now 15.

Phillip Garrido is a registered sex offender, and authorities inspected his house several times over the years but never discovered the backyard compound.

The neighbors and other acquaintances said Garrido conducted religious revivals in a tent, claimed to hear the voices of angels and God, and said he had developed a device through which he could control sound with his mind. He propounded this all in a business he called 'God's Desire.'

In a telephone interview from jail with Sacramento TV station KCRA, Garrido said, 'In the end, this is going to be a powerful, heartwarming story.'

In recent years, he said, 'my life has been straightened out. Wait till you hear the story of what took place at this house. You're going to be absolutely impressed. It's a disgusting thing that took place with me at the beginning, but I turned my life completely around.'"

-- Demian Bulwa, Jaxon Van Derbeken, Henry K. Lee, and Kevin Fagan, who seriously ought to check if Phillip Garrido knows Ang Lee or Mick LaSalle - or attended Woodstock - since they're all telling the exact same story, in The San Francisco Chronicle.

"Ron Garrido said he always knew his younger brother was deeply troubled.

There was, he recalled Thursday, Phillip Garrido's damaging use of LSD as a teenager in Brentwood and his talk of sexual compulsion. There was the escape from fellow drug dealers after high school, the federal conviction for rape and kidnapping and his prison marriage.

Still, the latest news - accusations that his 58-year-old brother had snatched a child off a street, held her in his backyard for 18 years and fathered two of her children - was a shock for Ron Garrido.

He said in an interview with The Chronicle that he was surprised at his only sibling's alleged crimes - but he didn't doubt the story.

'It just seems so bizarre, but I can believe it,' said the 65-year-old Brentwood resident. 'I know my brother, and I can believe he did that. ... He's a fruitcake.

'My thoughts are with the poor little girl,' Ron Garrido said of Jaycee Lee Dugard, 29, who was abducted in 1991 near her family's South Lake Tahoe home. 'She was held prisoner there. She had two children with this idiot. Now she's got to start a life.'"

-- Demian Bulwa, on the real post-Woodstock backwash the rest of us have been made to endure - probably until the last Baby Boomer is dead - glad only that we made it out alive, with our country still here, but without Mary Jo Kopechne (be sure to click the link and read that spin) while still trying to make sense of what we can glean, from reading The San Francisco Chronicle.

More Material For The (Spiritual) Material Girl

"A musical parody about Madonna's controversial adoption of Malawian orphan Mercy James is being performed at the Edinburgh Fringe this month by a Malawian cast.

The 50-year-old Material Girl, who is portrayed in the play Mercy Madonna Of Malawi by a black male actor in a blonde wig, is routinely mocked and her back catalogue of hits takes a beating.

Madonna is first glimpsed breaking wind in bed with adopted Malawian son David Banda, whom she later uses as a step to climb on to the stage."

-- The Daily Mail

What's Funny Is Liberals Only Like This Kind Of Talk When It's Coming From One Of Their Own

"I am judging!" "Western culture is BETTER!"

Let a conservative say this and he's a bad guy. But coming from Bill Maher, it's brilliance worthy of applause.

There's just no consistency in liberalism, and living with liberal hypocrisy is a drag on the culture. They'll say or do anything to feel good about themselves - even if it means going against what they just said they "believe" in - and then wonder why nobody trusts them.

How about because you just lied to us? You said you were "totally non-judgmental", and now you're applauding a call to be judgmental just because Bill Maher told you to. Why couldn't you applaud when Ronald Reagan said the same thing? Because you're a hypocrite, that's why. You won't applaud common sense just for being common sense, but only if it's coming from someone who votes as you do - and you don't expect that I'll see that hypocrisy and call you on it? What do you think I am? I know: you think I'm as stupid, and blinkered, as you are. Thanks a lot.

Your adding insult to injury changes everything.

And They'll Never See It Coming,...

"We already have laws to protect us against fortune telling. The crime is very specific: it's called fraud. Now we just need to get some law enforcement folks interested in prosecuting it."

-- Jeff Wagg, on a new Bethesda, Maryland law that forbids "foretelling the future" - which is possible - since the cops could start doing it for psychics and the like, fairly quickly, with the help of the James Randi Educational Foundation.

Let's Re-Live Some Great Kennedy Moments!!!

"Joan Kennedy, the former wife of Massachusetts Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, is in the hospital recuperating from a concussion and a broken shoulder after a passer-by found her lying in a street, according to her son.

'Were indebted to some anonymous pedestrian who found her and picked her up and got her help,' Patrick Kennedy told the Boston Herald for its Wednesday editions.

Details of exactly what happened and how she ended up in the street were unclear. There was no police report on the incident. Joan Kennedy, who divides her time between Cape Cod and a Boston condominium, has struggled with alcoholism."

-- The Associated Press

This story, from 2005, is a glorious moment in Ted Kennedy's life. That's a photo of Joan, above, standing by "Teddy" after he killed Mary Jo Kopechne in what we now know as the great hippie epoch called 1969.

What a wonderful time. What a wonderful guy, looking like the cornered rat that he was. He divorced Joan, of course, and pretended the rest of us would pretend along with him, that he was a great person, if he continued to stand up for doing the wrong thing - under the guise of helping the little guy. You know, me - but not Joan, the woman he swore fidelity to. I think they call it "paying lip service" or something like that.

Anyway, look at his face there in good ol' '69. That's the real Ted Kennedy. The guy who, from that day forward, could never tell Mary Jo's parents what happened that night. The guy who claimed remorse but couldn't admit the truth. The Catholic who paraded himself as an icon of virtue, until he died, because his rotten Democratic Party would reward him for not giving answers - even for lying, divorce and murder - just as it let Bill Clinton (a Baptist) get away with defaming Monica Lewinsky, and gave Gavin Newsom 75% of the vote to become mayor of NewAge San Francisco after he was busted for cheating with his best friend's (and campaign manager's) wife. Yes, indeed, the Democrats are a party of players!

Well, it's been a party alright. And now it's over for the guy who lived with a lampshade on his head. Good riddance.

The World Health Organization Speaks About Homeopathy And Says It Sucks Rotten Hitler Eggs

Dr Mario Raviglione, Director, Stop TB Department, WHO: “Our evidence-based WHO TB treatment/management guidelines, as well as the International Standards of Tuberculosis Care (ISTC) do not recommend use of homeopathy.”

Dr Mukund Uplekar, TB Strategy and Health Systems, WHO: “WHO’s evidence-based guidelines on treatment of tuberculosis…have no place for homeopathic medicines.”

Dr Teguest Guerma, Director Ad Interim, HIV/AIDS Department, WHO: “The WHO Dept. of HIV/AIDS invests considerable human and financial resources [...] to ensure access to evidence-based medical information and to clinically proven, efficacious, and safe treatment for HIV… Let me end by congratulating the young clinicians and researchers of Sense About Science for their efforts to ensure evidence-based approaches to treating and caring for people living with HIV.”

Dr Sergio Spinaci, Associate Director, Global Malaria Programme, WHO: “Thanks for the amazing documentation and for whistle blowing on this issue… The Global Malaria programme recommends that malaria is treated following the WHO Guidelines for the Treatment of Malaria.”

Joe Martines, on behalf of Dr Elizabeth Mason, Director, Department of Child and Adolescent Health and Development, WHO: “We have found no evidence to date that homeopathy would bring any benefit to the treatment of diarrhoea in children…Homeopathy does not focus on the treatment and prevention of dehydration - in total contradiction with the scientific basis and our recommendations for the management of diarrhoea."

So here's a question:

What does all that say about Whole Foods having a Whole Section™ provided for "homeopathic treatments"? Or that "homeopathic treatments" are sold at all? Or that homeopaths are viewed as doctors in England and France?

Does it say that, maybe, we're all surrounded by a bunch of "progressive" swindlers? That, maybe, there's another major life-and-death Bernie Madoff-type NewAge scam going on? That, maybe, someone's been taking advantage of the public? (Hell, if these homeopaths will take advantage of people with tuberculosis, malaria, and diarrhea, then these same NewAge water salesmen certainly don't care about YOU, right?)

Come on,...I know I've got a foul mouth, and I ain't "spiritual", but who's really your buddy?

Have I ever lied to you?

You Can't Stop The Signal

He's done it again:

Bill Whittle has another brilliant break-down for you - filled with more amazing analysis and more-than-a-bit of restrained rage - which I appreciate because he's saying many of the things I've stressed, and you should hear, in just that manner. What manner is that?

The Macho Response.

Check it out.

"Death Panels" Are Very Nazi NewAge-y Now

"According to Ben Smith over at Politico, President Barack Obama gave some theological weight to his health care plan during a phone call to a group of Rabbis the other day.  Referring to the belief that God decides during the Jewish New Year 'who shall live and who shall die,' Obama told the rebs, 'We are God’s partners in matters of life and death.'

In response to this statement I would like to make a subtle theological point:  No, we’re not.  For those of you who aren’t versed in the finer points of theology, let me try to simplify that for you: No. We’re not. Or to put it even more simply: No. We. Are. Not."

-- Andrew Klavan, making me shake my head to think that anyone could put a bumper sticker on his car about George W. Bush - saying "There's a village that's missing an idiot" - and then vote for Barack Obama, instead of reading Pajamas Media.
