The World-Wide Scorched Earth Policy's Begun

"All patients buying homeopathic products should be told there is no strong evidence homeopathy works, The Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has said in draft guidance announced last week."
-- Chemist and Druggist

England, Ireland,...who's next? Germany? France? Gulp: America?

Stay tuned.

You Betta Recognize

"The American president has the power to control America's borders if he wants to, but George W. Bush and Barack Obama did not and do not want to, and for the same reason, and we all know what it is. The fastest-growing demographic in America is the Hispanic vote, and if either party cracks down on illegal immigration, it risks losing that vote for generations.

But while the Democrats worry about the prospects of the Democrats and the Republicans about the well-being of the Republicans, who worries about America?

No one. Which the American people have noticed, and which adds to the dangerous alienation—actually it's at the heart of the alienation—of the age."
That's Peggy Noonan, not mentioning what "age" - exactly - we're in. I could help with that (ask Oprah, Peggy!) but I was more fascinated by this quote:

"Why does the federal government do this? Because so many within it are stupid and unimaginative and don't trust the American people. Which of course the American people have noticed."
See? I'm not the only one who sees stupidity, specifically, out there. But "unimaginative"? How can that be? Hillary Clinton was cult schooled by Jean Houston! Bill Clinton was cult schooled by Ken Wilber! Barack Obama was cult schooled by Oprah!

And Oprah was cult schooled by Eckhart Tolle, Rhonda Byrne, Marianne Willaimson, James Arthur Ray (seen above) and a whole host of other cultish charlatans! These folks are "enlightened"! What do you mean they're "unimaginative"? They've got someone telling them what to do all-the-time - before they even tell you what to do, or what they're going to do to you! That's the "age" we're in. The stupid age.

And it's all 100% new. To politics.

Come To Where The Flavor Is

This blog and I seem to have become the black Howard Beale - without the audience, of course.

Without the audience because I may seem unhinged on occasion, or I hurt somebody's widdle feewings, but it's mostly because "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!" - not even from my betters - and y'all don't know what to do with someone who doesn't hide that he thinks most of you, whatever your credentials, are fools.

I met a guy a few days ago, worked in the psychiatric field, who was buying a new car because a psychic told him he'd meet an italian woman after he'd done so.

Don't laugh, because (as far as I'm concerned) he represented all of y'all.

Just caught up in a bit of the ol' "irrational exuberance" is all.

How's that song go?

"We both know that it's wrong / but it's much to strong / to let it go now,..."?

Yep, that's your problem, in a nutshell.

Like Bart and Lisa arguing, Glenn Reynolds and Ann Althouse and Andrew Breitbart think they're doing something big with the Tea Party as they scream "Your a racist!" "No, you're a racist!" in the back seat of The Simpson's family car.

You're all racists.

Meanwhile ObamaCare passed right under their noses and all they do is act like it doesn't matter - they've got a movement.

Yea, like teenagers forming a band.

"There's a lot more money still out there, in the election cycle underway. According to the review that the Center for Responsive Politics has made of all contributions of $200 or more reported to the Federal Election Commission, Goldman Sachs and its employees have put at least $694,000 into the campaigns of federal candidates in the 2010 election cycle - that money flowing by a better than two-to-one margin to the Democratic Party, the one in control of Congress."
Whoa, scared of you.

(Not really.)

Want to know what gets me going?

While these fools are out there fighting the enemy the old fashioned way - and losing - I see this:

"The Oprah Winfrey Network, the 50/50 joint venture between Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Inc. and Discovery Communications, announced last week it had secured a significant commitment from Procter & Gamble, the world's largest advertiser.

P&G, the manufacturer of dozens of household name brands like Tide, Crest, Tampax and Pampers, committed to a deal reportedly worth more than $100 million over three years. The agreement, which includes the purchase of time and integration into programming, is unprecedented in that Winfrey's network (OWN for short) will not be on the air until January 2011, does not yet have a full programming lineup and has no audience and therefore no basis for ratings, reach or demographics."
Or how about "Oprah Winfrey raises $3 million for Barack Obama"?

Seems to me, picking off that one quackery-selling woman - who gave more to the enemy than everyone at Goldman Sachs, combined - should be pretty easy, but she (and the other NewAgers she's been involved with) are hands off for the Tea Party to go after.

But that's how you fight politics now: Glenn Beck style.

Connect Bill Clinton to Ken Wilber - and then tell people about Ken Wilber.

You'll win me over when you try something new.

And stop being a bunch of wusses.

You know, The Macho Response.

What It Be Like? (Big Pimpin') Go On, Big Dawg!

"A teacher who bludgeoned a disruptive pupil with a dumbbell walked free yesterday when a 'common sense' jury acquitted him in minutes.

Peter Harvey was cleared of trying to kill a 14-year-old boy who told him to '**** off'.

His trial heard how he was targeted by teenagers who knew he had been
off work with depression and stress.

The 'fundamentally decent' man snapped when the science class set out to upset him, with a girl  -  described as the pupils' ringleader  -  using a camcorder to film the incident so she could distribute it round the school.

Mr Harvey dragged the boy  -  a persistent troublemaker  -  into a cupboard and hit him about the head with a 3kg dumbbell shouting 'die, die, die'.

The attack fractured the teenager's skull.

But yesterday a jury swiftly acquitted him of attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Judge Michael Stokes QC told the court 'common sense had prevailed'."

Why So-Called "Smart" Whites Are Still Getting Annoyed With All Us So-Called "Stupid" Blacks

While Jon Stewart was winning kudos from all the so-called "smart" white people for this display, many black people were looking on in horror, feeling like the butt of the joke - again - and wondering, what's wrong with the so-called "smart" white people, that they can't ever defend themselves without, somehow, bringing blacks into it?

Maybe, just maybe, it's because they're reactionary suckers who allow (as one famous so-called "smart guy" admitted:) "the bogus charges of racism, etc." to "get my dander up"?

Here's my advice to such folks:

Since, like religion, race is an imaginary construct, just shut up about it and stop feeding the beast.

There: "dander" problem solved.

I'm The Man: I Know It Like The Back Of My Hand

Somebody's got to be right in this world, Ladies and Gentlemen:
"The IPCC—which has produced four omnibus assessments of climate science since 1992—has issued several embarrassing retractions from its most recent 2007 report, starting with the claim that Himalayan glaciers were in danger of melting as soon as 2035. That such an outlandish claim would be so readily accepted is a sign of the credulity of the climate campaign and the media: Even if extreme global warming occurred over the next century, the one genuine scientific study available estimated that the huge ice fields of the Himalayas would take more than 300 years to melt—a prediction any beginning chemistry student could confirm with a calculator. (The actual evidence is mixed: Some Himalayan glaciers are currently expanding.) The source for the melt-by-2035 claim turned out to be not a peer-reviewed scientific assessment, but a report from an advocacy group, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), which in turn lifted the figure from a popular magazine article in India whose author later disavowed his offhand speculation.

But what made this first retraction noteworthy was the way in which it underscored the thuggishness of the climate establishment. The IPCC’s chairman, Rajendra Pachauri (an economist and former railroad engineer who is routinely described as a 'climate scientist'), initially said that critics of the Himalayan glacier melt prediction were engaging in 'voodoo science,' though it later turned out that Pachauri had been informed of the error in early December—in advance of the U.N.’s climate change conference in Copenhagen—but failed to disclose it. He’s invoking the Charlie Rangel defense: It was my staff’s fault.

But Pachauri’s days as IPCC chairman are likely numbered; there are mounting calls from within the IPCC for Pachauri to resign, amid charges of potential conflicts of interest (like Gore, Pachauri is closely involved with commercial energy schemes that benefit from greenhouse gas regulation) but also in part because Pachauri chose this delicate moment to publish a soft-core pornographic novel. (The main character is an aging environmentalist and engineer engaged in a 'spiritual journey' that includes meeting Shirley MacLaine, detailed explorations of the Kama Sutra, and group sex.)"
See, when I - The Crack Emcee - say such-and-such is motherfucking NewAge pseudoscience, then god damn it, you can take it to the motherfucking bank, that motherfucking such-and-such is motherfucking NewAge pseudoscience. Are we clear?

ARE WE CLEAR?
