All of the established, known cults you mentioned in your second list (Scientology, etc.) fall under that umbrella, and there are many others.

I don't mind that you call me stupid, that's often the first feedback people give when the can't follow a logical train of thought and become frustrated.

It doesn't mean anyone is stupid here, it just means you probably need a refresher course on basic English grammar and simple discursive reason.

Now, follow along and I'll try to explain it again.

Yes, the groups I listed are specific cults (noun).

They also are all new age (adjective) cults (noun).

But you do not claim that Obama is "new agey" (adjective) here; instead you claim that obama is a "cultist" (noun).

In other words, he belongs to some specific new age CULT.

So that is why I am asking you, which SPECIFIC cult (noun) does Obama belong to?

By way of comparison, I can say that someone is religious (adjective) or fluent (adjective).

But fluent in which LANGUAGE (noun)? Religious in which sect (noun)?

Which exact CULT (because that was your claim) does Obama belong to?

There is NO cult called the "New Age movement" - "new age" in that instance is an adjective being appended to the word movement, which in turn is describing a set of smaller groups, etc.

Comprende, partner?

Start from the noun/adjective distinction and see if you can make an actual logical assertion from there.

Which specific CULT (your claim, not mine) in the new age (adjective) movment (noun) is Obama a member of?

If he doesn't belong to a CULT (noun) then he is not a CULTIST.

It's as simple as that.

He may be a "faddist" or a "new ager" or a "participant in American pop CULTURE" but those are not the same thing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203082776419426855.post-16344573732199735282011-01-01T10:10:32.494-08:002011-01-01T10:10:32.494-08:00Cache is not cachet.Cache is not cachet.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203082776419426855.post-18133677419740643042010-12-30T20:55:28.844-08:002010-12-30T20:55:28.844-08:00Jesus, you're being stupid - I said it's N...Jesus, you're being stupid - I said it's NewAge (You have heard of the NewAge Movement, haven't you?) All of the established, known cults you mentioned in your second list (Scientology, etc.) fall under that umbrella, and there are many others.

Now, cults have these things called "beliefs" and practices, your first and third lists cover *some* of them (which you erroneously refer to as fads, disconnecting them from their origins in cultism) and all cults only believe and/or practice some of them. Also, you don't mention there are "open" cults - that allow you autonomy because they have your mind firmly conditioned - and "closed" cults that keep control over you 24/7. Or that, in this advanced stage of development, with so much of society conditioned to think like them, they work together to keep the hum going - a homeopath will refer you to a great chiropractor who knows an excellent psychic for you to talk to! And they're all endorsed by Oprah on her new network!

Your simple-minded approach to me shows you really don't understand any of this.

And will you stop it with the cult bands and movies - unless you're talking about the bands "Cult" and "Girls" which were born out of actual cult indoctrination? Also, you say - you say - "the Beatnigs (for example) are a 'cult band' but that is not the same thing as swallowing Kool-Aid at Jonestown." I was in it - not you - and I say, even there, you don't know what you're talking about. Lots happened, in San Francisco and before that, for Jim Jones to get people prepared to drink that Kool-Aid in the jungle. Naziism didn't start with the killing of the Jews. Preparation was everything and The Beatnigs had their "beliefs" and practices as well.

Why in the world do you think I'm a conservative? The Crack Emceehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08366101526773588864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203082776419426855.post-12603947776253842052010-12-30T15:47:15.919-08:002010-12-30T15:47:15.919-08:00Thanks for your response and appreciate the clarif...Thanks for your response and appreciate the clarification.

So you say Obama is part of a cult (noun) - an organized mind-control group of some sort that:

- punishes people for leaving
- alienates them from wider society
- takes all their money
- controls who they can talk to
- controls who they can marry
- etc, etc

...so which one is it? Which ACTUAL CULT is Obama a member of?

Here are a few of the most well known (to jog your memory):

- Church of Scientology
- Falun Gong
- Children of God
- Polygamist Mormons
- Unification Church
- ISKON (Hare Krishna)

Note, we are talking here about ACTUAL CULTS, not vague, guilt by association links to popular fads like:

- yoga
- recycling
- acupuncture
- being a fan of "cult movies"
- being a fan of musicians with "cult followings"

...we've already covered that stuff, the "Beatnigs (for example) are a "cult band" but that is not the same thing as swallowing Kool-Aid at Jonestown.

To recap: you claim that Obama belongs to an ACTUAL CULT - so which one is it?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203082776419426855.post-60122360730455462532010-12-30T15:02:58.264-08:002010-12-30T15:02:58.264-08:00CNN's popular talking head doctor who was also...CNN's popular talking head doctor who was also almost chosen by our Cultist-In-Chief to be the country's Surgeon General.

Case in point. "Cultist in chief" - of what cult?

Jesus Christ, if you read the blog (and you obviously do, though how much I have no way of knowing) you'd know the president's cult is NewAge.

You overuse this word the way that the smurfs overuse the word "smurf" - it becomes a case of "cried wolf" and winds up meaning nothing.

I do not. I'm just not willing - after 5,000+ posts - to continue spelling it out repeatedly because it makes the blog boring, both, to read and to create. If it's a subject that interests you then go back to the early posts and study up on it, but I'm done explaining the parameters. Also, to the newcomers, I'm sure, it looks like I'm saying everything is a cult but that's only because:

A) Most people don't understand how widespread this phenomena has spread (when most major operations had their motivational work done by est and the Landmark Forum in the 70s and have expanded that thinking since, it's bigger than most realize)

And B) nobody focuses on on all the things I DON'T say are cults or cultish. For instance, on the Democrat side, I've said Obama, Tom Harkin, the Clintons, etc., are all involved in cultism (because they've all indicated it) but I've NEVER said (or suggested) Big Sis, Eric Holder, or David Axelrod is - understand?

I'm neither exaggerating the problem or being careless.

Thanks for writing. Really:

I appreciate the opportunity to define this to someone interested. The Crack Emceehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08366101526773588864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203082776419426855.post-81376361816893594562010-12-30T12:05:25.793-08:002010-12-30T12:05:25.793-08:00CNN's popular talking head doctor who was also...CNN's popular talking head doctor who was also almost chosen by our Cultist-In-Chief to be the country's Surgeon General.

Case in point. "Cultist in chief" - of what cult?

The United States of America? Is that the cult? Or are you saying that the office of the presidency is a cult?

Its not a matter of "convenience" to agree on the meaning of words in the same language your readers are using (in this case "English")

Its a matter of courtesy to the reader, and of being understood.

You overuse this word the way that the smurfs overuse the word "smurf" - it becomes a case of "cried wolf" and winds up meaning nothing.

Which is a shame because there are actually dangerous cults out there, something you seem desperate to prevent your readers from discovering.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
