But I don't have the chops to bedrock my ideas.

Isn't the world, our everyday sense of reality, our place in it, a cult.

That's not to say that certain ways of living life aren't better than others, of course they are. Those are the good cults.

Crack, I'm not attempting to lessen your work. I think you are spot on as a matter of fact. Just that the problem is so damn complicated.

Yeah, I'm drinking, and shouldn't post. But it is obviously intriguing, this idea of moving the world to a more honest appraisal of reality.

VW - miscastr... yeah, I've been told that.Lutherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08901441364329385474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203082776419426855.post-49048141140399137032011-02-08T12:21:58.843-08:002011-02-08T12:21:58.843-08:00CMC,

He wrote SAINTS AND SINNERS, a study of offbeat American spiritual leaders; and REMEMBERING SATAN, a case study of "False Memory Syndrome" and the "Satanic panic" of the 1980s.

I think he pulled his punches here because he was up against $cientology, which is essentially a criminal racket, masquerading as a money-making operation, disguised as a religion, camouflaged as a self-help system. They are absolutely ruthless in dealing with even the mildest critics, and no doubt already have their battalions of attorneys flinging lawsuits at TODAY, The New Yorker, and Wright.Mikalnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203082776419426855.post-24465636694020153132011-02-08T11:23:29.611-08:002011-02-08T11:23:29.611-08:00Don't forget good old fashioned arrogance. Peo...Don't forget good old fashioned arrogance. People get into cults because cults promise access to secret knowledge and wisdom that ordinary people don't possess. Cults pander to the need some people have to possess those secrets and in doing so, be elevated above others.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02303755181174414108noreply@blogger.com
