Racists, NewAgers, Nazis - The Beliefs Tying Modern American Society Together

Vox.com did a little explaining:
West’s…insistence that slavery is a choice needs to be understood…in the ideology of pulling yourself up by your bootstraps celebrated in everything from the 19th-century novels of Horatio Alger to GOP talking points. Religiously, we can see it in distinctively American crazes like the Victorian era’s New Thought and the popularity of the Christian prosperity gospel, which implies that your piety directly impacts your pocketbook. It’s the ideology that underpins our Gwyneth Paltrow-inspired fantasies of “wellness,” our obsessive gym culture, and capitalist “empowerment” complexes like the skin care industry. Physically, spiritually, socially, we are — as a nation — fantasists of control.
"We"? Speak for yourselves, but - well, don't that sound familiar?

"These People Are Deluding Themselves."

Where's a show on the multitude of problems a normal person may face that are caused by living in a world of delusional people?

The Occult Culture Of The West's Cult Culture: Facebook Is No Different From 'Frisco, Which Is No Different From Austin, Texas, Which is No Different From,....

What I've known and said and recorded for more than a decade is finally being said elsewhere - like any information, arriving this late, could still be "news" to me or something - but it IS getting out there:

"We are a political monoculture that’s intolerant of different views....we claim to welcome all perspectives, but are quick to attack — often in mobs — anyone who presents a view that appears to be in opposition to left-leaning ideology...Your colleagues are afraid because they know that they — not their ideas — will be attacked. They know that all the talk of “openness to different perspectives” does not apply...you can either keep quiet or sacrifice your reputation and career."
"These are not fears without cause because we tear down posters welcoming Trump supporters. We regularly propose removing Thiel from our board because he supported Trump. We’re quick to suggest firing people who turn out to be misunderstood, and even quicker to conclude our colleagues are bigots. We have made “All Lives Matter” a fireable offense. We put Palmer Luckey through a witch hunt because he paid for anti-Hillary ads. We write each other ad-hoc feedback in the PSC tool for having “offensive” ideas. We ask HR to investigate those who dare to criticize Islam’s human rights record for creating a “non inclusive environment.” And they called me a transphobe when I called out our corporate art for being politically radical."

So, someone's getting around to detailing *some* of the cult's behavior now - they just still haven't stuck the word "cult" on it. Then again, they're not really breaking it all down, yet, either (except to notice "free speech" is not a Facebook concern - just like it's not a NewAge liberal concern...): these guys only care about their one aspect of it, as most newbies will. They'll change. Once they fully grasp it in it's totality. And as totalitarian.

You Gotta Catch Up, Keep Up - And Stay Up - To Be Up (On The Cult Business)

Thank goodness for TED Talks. Because, even after all these years, I still find it difficult to talk to people who don't see NewAge cultism, and TED, at least, acknowledges cults (and cultists) exist.

See, I've been into the cult phenomena for such a long time now that, today, it's not only like trying to explain a really complicated movie plot to someone who just sat down 3/4 of the way in (and, because it's the good part - just as Crooked Hillary's lost and everything's discombobulated - it's also when I really just want to watch, and can't be bothered with fucking explaining shit to now-curious Johnnie Come Latelies) but, I also probably am being asked to do it for someone who, I know, used to insist this whole movie business thing never existed and was just a figment of my "crazy" imagination. That's why I haven't heard from 'em in years.

So - yeah - I think TED Talks are way cool. With them, everybody can play catch up, while I'm watching this shit unfold.

We can talk after.

GOOP: Empowerment For Dummies

Gwyneth Paltrow

I'm waaay past trying to "read between the lines" on NewAge, but, when I do still read about it, certain stuff does leap out at me:
"The combination of aspirational blogging, female-targeted marketing and the alternative health industry has created something with significant potential to cause harm...while some practices are supported by evidence or are culturally important and date back millennia, some are pure opportunistic snake oil: anti-scientific and crass in exploiting illness for profit...The danger of Goop isn't simply in the broader risks of pseudoscience and misinformation, it's in the exploitation of medicine's sexism to create a new and gendered market for snake oil. The wellness industry isn't pushing for more and better science into women's health — it wants instead to create a secondary pathway for...disproportionately exposing women to the harms of quackery."
Why that doesn't leap out - to women - I can only wonder,...

All Of Life Is Suffering

When a headline reads Buddhist author loses ‘How to Be Decent’ book deal after ThinkProgress covers alleged sex misconduct, you'd think *someone* would realize the Buddhist belief system doesn't make anyone more peaceful, or wise (as practitioners claim) but, instead, it turns them into a pack of golden robed liars - even to themselves - about what they've really been up to in this life.

How Long, After W. Kamau Bell Says Trump Is President Because Of Russia, Are We Supposed To Keep Listening To His Special Like He Still Knows Something?

I don't know about you, but, I made it approx. 30 seconds. And (I've also noticed) I'm spending a lot less time on Netflix overall, than I used to, because the rest of it's choices have gotten to be so liberal lately, the service is becoming less of a new option for my viewing pleasure and almost nothing more than a warehouse of propaganda for the gullible and stupid. YouTube is way more practical to pay for.

They'll Never Learn

When people say things like this, I'm certain they haven't been watching politics with any real interest for very long, because any fool who has already knew this about Paul Manafort, at least 30 years ago - and is wondering why he had to go now? In the real world of DC, busting Paul Manafort - for corruption? - is the equivalent of stopping a child from selling lemonade on the street without a permit: Sure, it's legit, and she "broke the law" but you can't help but feel sorry for the kid. This has just as much integrity: it was done to get at Trump - so it's just another con - which is exactly what they're trying to bust HIM for being involved in.

Out of the frying pan,....

I Think I've Died And Gone To Heaven

The Right is having a hissy fit over it, but, it looks like I'm getting my way and the internets are finally - finally - fighting back against the misinformation mavins the government wouldn't (like Alex Jones) and the fake medicine cults (as alternative medicines also get the boot from Facebook.) I'm not sure what got into them, except President Trump's presence seems to be making the unethical check themselves a bit more (lest they decide they're more like him than they want to admit) but - whatever it is - I'm not complaining:

Good work, Guys. And it's about time.

Questions Liberals Refuse To Ask (And The Answer They Don't Want)

”Now that President Trump's current attorney, Rudy Giuliani, has told us in a nationally televised interview on NBC's Meet the Press that 'truth isn't truth,' we are left to determine for ourselves what 'truth' actually means….That's not as easy, especially when Trump is constantly bombarding us with documentable lies that seem designed to confuse and distract us.”

"Trump is constantly bombarding us with documentable lies", huh? Hmmm. Did President Trump scream "No Blood For Oil!" all the way through the Iraq War? If not - who did, and where's all that oil? Was that claim "designed to confuse and distract us"? And, if so, who was distracting us and from what? Are they still?

And - if anyone bought into that - has any liberal corrected their view of American politics, before "moving on" to the next crisis they're screaming we should care about? And, are they any more correct about this one, than they were about Iraq?

Does misinforming the public, about that conflict, bother anyone who's liberal?

Nah, I know my country - that's "This American Life" - and business as usual.

Yes, I'm A Pin Prick

The next time you see a story on Jim Carrey's all-important entertainment comeback, or Robert de Niro's super-informative political rants, or - especially - Elle McPhersen's boyfriend, Andrew Wakefield, remember: the latest European measles outbreak infects 41,000 people, killing 27 of them (so far) and every celebrity I just mentioned had something to do with it.

“Just 66 percent of millennials firmly believe that the Earth is round” BUT, if you let Alex Jones keep talking to them, that number will look good one day.

Joseph's Got No Grain In The Pyramids

Pajamas Media has a piss-poor article called Ben Carson's 'Fall From Grace' Amongst Black Americans, that details all the liberal reasons (they could find) why blacks may not trust the conservative icon, while completely overlooking the most obvious one, which is also what I hear most often in daily conversation:

"How can a black brain surgeon be so stupid?"

It's a really hard question to get around.

You Got This (Don't Give It Back)

After all the times it's been written (and I've written) yoga and meditation trains fools to sit in their shit and declare it "gold", it's painful to read this headline:

Maybe it's because the homeless have already reached a "higher state of consciousness" from San Francisco's free yoga classes? If so, that means they'll only need astrology to keep their pants up. O.K., that's not what it means.

But know this: we're told (with a straight face and no questions) on the Left is a "Yoga Vote" while the Right's got a "Pizzagate Audience" - so, cult-and-conspiracy watchers, recognize you're shit out of luck if you're rational. And you may be, with:
