I watched a woman lie through her teeth about drinking coffe and eating chocolate to her strict Mormon husband (Word of Wisdom baby, clearly God will let you into heaven because you follow his diet plan), and the amount of sheer craziness that went on with that (and it was crazy).

It was crazy because a freaking cocoa caramel macchiato seems like a pretty stupid thing to lie to your spouse about for one thing, and worse get seriously freaked out over (lying to your spouse), as well as a pretty trifling thing for the great almighty to be getting his nose out of joint over...but it didn't end there, because I think she became a "lie and get away with it" junkie, after a while she was making big purchases, stealing money from her husband's wallet, you name it (of course, her husband was partially to blame because he did put her in the position to lie and steal -- pretty bad when you have to do that to get your kids new shoes; you can't just go to the sole breadwinner in the house -- because hey, God don't like women working -- and ask for the money to go buy the kids some damn shoes or have him go get the shoes, which was beneath him as a priesthood holder too -- and he didn't work half the time because nobody around here appreciated his talent...aka. he was a freaking fraud and after a while too many people got burnt by him and couldn't get a job outside of independent contracting because of church duties coming first). They were on welfare a lot.

It was seriously a messed up family dynamic, and the kids started acting that way too (all goody two shoes on the outside and rob/con people at the drop of a hat on the inside -- what else could anyone expect of them?).

Sad thing is she was the only Mormon I've ever met that stayed pleasant around my family once we gave the big N-O to joining her nutty cult...but frankly I'm kinda glad she doesn't come around any more.
And for that I'm a bigot and a hater.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
