"Neo-shamanism, which is a subset of neo-paganism, which is a subset of New Age spirituality."-- Robert Wright, making sure we get the neo-lineage correct - while also informing us (as I have many times) that "New Age spirituality is no more pure than old-time religion" - so you might as well forget the whole neo-thing and start off smart, with atheism, and a clean Slate.
After informing us that shamans are (and always have been) all about fraud, money, and sex, Mr. Wright (a believer) also adds:
"If you try neo-shamanism, don't be under the illusion that you're helping to recover a lost age of authentic spirituality. Religion has always been a product of human beings, for better and worse."
