Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are

This gets me to thinking that, rather than celebrating when someone comes out, people who are "living a lie" are doing everyone a disservice. A Gore Vidal, or a Quenton Crisp, are much braver than many (most?) gays who didn't do so until it was safe. (As I've said before, blacks could never hide who they are.)

I'm going to stop with that thought, because this piece is too funny to treat seriously, but some of you should still take it as food for thought:
