The Truth #6: The LDS? Ha! You Ain't Seen NOTHIN' Yet

Anyone convinced "the Mormon card" was played during this nomination process is living in a dream world. Romney and the Mormons got a free ride on that one. All we've seen were a few evangelical Christians complaining (and not for long) but there was not a single major interview with cult experts, knowledgable Mormon critics, or ex-Mormons, as well as no serious investigative pieces done on the "church" - and no challenges to anything that was said. (Even the recently released video of Romney speaking about Mormonism is from 2007.) This was NOT Obama and Rev. Wright. This,…nothing is what passed, for most, as a serious presidential vetting. And for a cult candidate at that.

I'd like to point out, on the Althouse blog, someone linked to my Skousen post (racist revisionism/right-wing conspiracy theories/the Founding Fathers were direct descendants of the Lost Tribes of Israel/a global cabal of bankers controlled the world/the 'blessings of slavery,' The National Review calling Romney's mentor an "all-around nutjob," etc.and not one person in over 600 posts - not one - mentioned it further. Instead, they preferred their daily ritual of insanely trying to one-up their resident liberal pin cushion.

That's a perfect example of how the real issues surrounding Mormonism have been handled.

It's been a whitewash, from top-to-bottom, and now we'll have to deal with the fallout of that oversight after they attain power over us - which is exactly how they look at it.

The GOP took a break from their usual "spiritual warfare" tirades to frame this contest as merely between Romney and Obama - but, as with any cult, there was much, much more going on than meets the eye.

If you thought Obama and Rev. Wright's amateur "social justice" agenda were bad - an agenda they never thought they'd really have a chance to implement - once these ballots are counted, you're going to meet some professionals who've been planning how to ride your ass for decades:

I'd get some vaseline - and prepare for a little rough going,…
