And there it is. The ugly self-regard that most whites hold for themselves - literally reducing others to "nothing" in comparison - is finally spoken out in the open. Not that it needed to be - we get it - but it's happened. And it was said by a Republican. A former Presidential candidate. A former Senator. And a white man. As late-in-the-day as 2021. I am now 60 years old, and have been living with such people for my whole life - as they insist slavery is over.
That 2012 election autopsy, the Republicans did on themselves - the one that said they had a race problem - pretty much predicted this would happen. In light of it, and this event, that the party chose to never address it again is, both, unfortunate and extremely disturbing.
I left the GOP in 2014 over their racism. They've always denied it's existence. But, that's that ugly self-regard again....
