You'd think the anti-vaccine hysteria that's been unleashed - long after Oprah helped launch Jenny McCarthy and Andrew Wakefield's ideas into the public consciousness - would have been enough to condemn her. But it's not - because women, specifically, are not holding Oprah accountable for her actions as a journalist. She is their icon, and - like all cultists - they can't admit they've failed.
But they have failed.
