The Republicans are making a big deal about the Democrats dropping God from their political platform when, if they were honest, there's no good reason why he was in there to begin with. I mean, make up your minds, Folks:
Is our hot-to-trot issue the burning economy or the burning bush?
And if it is the economy (and not just whatever these losers can grasp onto for advantage) then why are the Mormons so happy to be piggy-backing on Mitt Romney's political ambitions - and why are the Republicans so happy to be letting them - even after it became clear Mitt doesn't "believe" any of it?
These "religious" folks have REALLY got to get their stories (and their values) straight,...
The Democrats want to replace God with the state. Since historically some rather unsavory types have done that very thing (Lenin, Stalin, Mussolini, the French during their revolution, etc.) I think I should be permitted to view this with a bit of healthy suspicion.
ReplyDeleteThe Republicans (or at least the Mormon chapter, which appears to be running the show there now) want to replace the state and God with their own version of a God-state (their definition of God only, please). Since some rather unsavory types have also historically tried this as well, with similar catastrophic results for the average Joe and Jane, again I feel as though I should be permitted the same sideways squint at them too.
