Go On - Crack-The-Fuck-Up: The Joke Is Always On You

I don't trust that website (at the link) but - Boy - all I have to do is read most comments here, recently, to know this is true:

Like, did anybody else notice, I didn't become a racist to conservatives until after I started commenting on conservative's racism? And it was their open racism - during the Trayvon trial -  that prompted me to make changes in TMR's focus? Really, that's how I became a racist.

(Calling libs racist was "all good" by conservatives, BTW, because, apparently, only white liberals can be racist,...)

Or, did anybody else notice, how commenting on white conservative's racism, somehow, turned me into an Obama supporter in their eyes?

And, did anybody else notice, once white conservatives made up their minds certain lies are true, they attacked me based on those delusions?

And, did anybody else notice, this is also how slavery got started?

  1. Uhm, yeah. Kinda crossed my mind more than once.

(although I think when slavery started is a question about like "what came first, chicken or egg?", but that's beside the point -- the real question is: does it ever end?).

  2. You are delusional Crack.

And PW, so are you for going along with this nonsense.

This is not how slavery starts. This is how you become everything you have fought against. You have a cult of one, unless you count PW and Meade when he occasionally shows up.

  3. Ehem, EBL...I think my comment about slavery -->chicken/egg pretty much summed up my point of departure with this post.

But the rest of it? Yeah, that's spot on. This whole thing did start up because Crack wouldn't go along with the SOP over the Martin/Zimmerman case (but I do remember he was on Zimmerman's side at the time, just not going to go along with the more radical of the comments and had some empathy for the Trayvon).
For that he got branded a racist -- in fact, anybody who didn't come out and call George Zimmerman the next best thing to Superman and Trayvon Martin only one step above the Anti-Christ got branded as some sort of liberal and idiot (and let's be honest: negro lover, and this happened on many blog sites.
[and let's also be honest: there was more than a bit of the label "nigger lover" getting insinuated there by some, not all, but the rest are smeared by association and allowing it to happen -- and that goes back to my comment about not feeding the beast...it also means don't feed pack behavior too, because there's a fair bit of that going on as well imhao]

And if anybody dares to point that out they are delusional...

  4. "A cult of one"

We're back to how y'all started at Althouse - until you started to agree with me.

I'm willing to wait - especially for you, Evi:

You're wrong, but I still like you.

PW and I are telling you how it went down. If you want to imagine it differently (because my back, conveniently, went out as y'all were acting up) that's on you.

I know what happened, and I've proven I can admit when I'm wrong.

    The rest?

  5. Crack,

We're back to how y'all started at Althouse - until you started to agree with me.

I never disagreed with you at Althouse. I was a fan of what you were doing there.

While I found the criticism of Romney and Mormons OTT, I can't disagree with you he was a terrible candidate (unfortunately towards the end they all were).

As far as Martin/Zimmerman, I thought it was more tragic than anything else. I think PW's analysis of that is just flat out biased and not true. I spent a lot of time discussing the ins and outs of gun laws and the prosecution in the Zimmerman trial over at Legal Insurrection and I did not see that sort of dialog from the vast majority of people (I am sure there may have been some occasional idiots expounding it on some sites, but then again there were idiots on the other side of things too).

I am a fan of your past work. But your recent blaming everything on racism seems unhelpful and also untrue. But that is me.

  6. EBL -- I'm not saying you were guilty of saying those things vis the Zimmerman trial, but a lot of people were very much guilty, and how many people called them on it? And for the few who did, what happened to them -- were they subverted, or ostracized, or defamed, or convinced to hush their mouths, perhaps even go along and play the rationalizers? And how many fell for it in order to stay in the group?

In fact, how many times did people who even mentioned at the start that perhaps it was too early to jump on any bandwagon get told in so many words that their opinions were wrong/didn't matter; how many as this whole thing progressed pointed out that this was turning unreasonable, unmeasured, unconservative and overly, dangerously reactionary and should be dropped got told to sit down and shut up, or where shouted down in even more insulting manner...and how many people allowed them to get shouted down, and insulted and said nothing? Did a reasoned and reasonable free exchange of ideas transpire?
No, people were supposed to give up their own minds and follow the crowd...or else suffer the slings and arrows of internet version of a street fight.

I have noticed that you yourself have gotten a taste of it...

What I see going on here is a big old mirror -- people getting a taste of their own medicine and discovering they don't like it very much (but not stopping to consider that they have inflicted the same on other people). It isn't exactly a bed of roses to witness.
There are many times I have wished to myself that Crack would get back to the other anti-cult stuff (which unfortunately gets little commentary -- it is tiring to see that the only thing that seems to matter any more is the race angle and a running street fight), but this (the race angle, or more pertinent the people behaving badly in groups matter) seems to be something that is very pertinent, imhao, to cult like thinking, and damn if it isn't a persistent devil -- so I can understand why he isn't letting it go (plus the general nastiness and lack of thought involved there is, understandably, a reason why he won't either).

If you can't see where this doesn't fit into the picture of cultish behavior, and all the evils and dangers that can come out of that, well, I don't know what to tell you other than it is; it most definitely is (and it isn't something to consider lightly -- history tells us that; it's happened before).
