ReplyDeleteHe has earned the highest disapproval rating of any president in history -76 percent. And its not just Democrats either. Even majority of Republicans know that hes been a disaster. I figure somebody gets thousands of people killed for no good reason deserves more than just hatred, but I know there are some people who will make excuses and point fingers at anyone but the people really responsible.

"Those who think that they have just voted to legalize Utopia,...are preparing for a disillusionment that I very much doubt they will blame on themselves."
That ain't describing we Bush supporters.
So, I'll keep sticking my chin out so you can take a swing at it, because - unlike liberals for the last 8 years - I'd hate to make life difficult for a fellow American.

They stand for nothing but selfishness and the only way to unite us is for Democrats to start acknowledging reality. Polls (like that which you cited for Bush) only tell the story for now. Many presidents had low poll numbers but, in time, were found to be great. I think the same will happen to Bush, and his critics - who chose to embarrass him in wartime - will be found to be the bigger problem, just like the hippies were. (Thinking an opinion of today will hold into tomorrow is just politically immature.)
You say you've "finally got it" like the man has actually done something yet - he hasn't - he merely came out the winner in a two-man race, nothing more. Only one could win, so, if I were you, I'd calm down:

ReplyDeleteWhat we finally have is a president who doesnt owe every one of his "successes" to his old man's friends, and who will work to restore the Constitution and the respect of this country. You can keep bashing him for the next 8 years, but real Americans will be behind him as he tries to repair the damage Bush has done. If he fucks up intentionally or does something stupid we will nail him for it. But I dont think thats going to happen. Hes too smart, and seems to be a decent man.

Also, I like that you're so in the tank that you've already handed him two terms - just as he did in his acceptance speech - I swear, you guys have enough hubris (unearned pride) to make a person think you got more than 52% of the vote. Also, you used the term "real Americans" - the same term Sarah Palin was slammed by Democrats for using - which is another display of hypocrisy. How do you guys do it?
