At least somebody called the stupidity out. Hopefully more people do.
The author who did the calling out is spot on. That somebody in this day and age would be that stupid (and that others listened to said person) is just sad.
And that would be a perfect way to attract the attention of predators, or create a sepsis, or both.
I realize that personal stories can be useful, but they have to back up some sense of fact/reality. In short, they have to be acknowledged as purely personal stories, not studies, and if they go against general knowledge of something (like this personal story did) then they should be questioned.
