White Americans: Not So Hot After Slavery & Jim Crow

This is a crime of such epic magnitude, it's hard to fathom:

White wealth and black poverty was an intentional decision by white elites and policy makers from the founding of the United States until the end of Jim and Jane Crow. The destruction of inter-generational wealth for people of color, and the literal transfer of land, labor, cash, and capital to whites, was the nation's stated public policy. It was not an accident. American Apartheid was a system of racial exploitation by white society with the goal of economically marginalizing and oppressing people of color.

Those who have access to these networks are not "better at life", to borrow from the NFL player Richard Sherman, because of biology or breeding. Rather, they have access to opportunities that accrue material and social advantages over the course of a lifetime, advantages which can then be passed down to one's children, kin, and friends.

It seems, 12 Years a Slave's Benedict Cumberbatch has a family history steeped in slavery's "system of unimaginable violence":

Today, Cumberbatch, 37, is rightly horrified by his family’s dark history.

His role as a slave owner in the new film, as well as his part as William Pitt the Younger in Amazing Grace, a movie about slavery abolitionist William Wilberforce, attest to his sense of shame. Indeed, he said at the time of making Amazing Grace that the role was a ‘sort of apology’ for his ancestry.

Let's see - 400 years of slavery and other acts of mind-bogglingly horrific abuse, broken promises of even an economic foothold, government betrayal and even the betrayal of Northern whites immediately after the Civil War, a Jim Crow prison system wallowing in corruption, and then - the cherry on top - the constant denial that any of it has occurred or, if someone white is brave enough to venture forth, the claim nobody alive got hurt and, even if anyone did, tough. 

After all that, can somebody - anybody - be accused of being a "bigot" then, if they were caught in what's euphemistically called "The American Dream", but, in reality, is really a sinister psychological hall of mirrors maintained by whites to hide their shame and protect what they see as their interest over the nation's?

This quote, on straight men and homosexuality, reminds me mostly of attitudes I encounter from some idiotic white men - the ones who come to TMR and, knowing I married a French woman, insist white women are all that interests me now, or all I've ever been interested in, before my wife.

They write these goofy, uninformed (and very-psychologically revealing) narratives that seem to stick - for other white men - because they're based, culturally, on an extremely simple way of looking at the world.

I mean, "black guy travels the world in the Navy and only sleeps with white women" is a narrative that bears not even a slight resemblance to what any normal adult would assume to be reality, but some white men seem to salivate (or is it masturbate?) at the prospect - completely ignoring this fact:

Their little fantasy puts all the emphasis on black men, while stripping white women of any agency in their modern day preferences.

These are the same men who are furious I'm willing to say whites have produced a sick culture.

A culture, so steeped in white supremacy, they've convinced themselves that - after whites have done every horrible thing imaginable, and more, to blacks - all we have is love for them.

"You start looking at numbers, start looking at census and you realize whites are the minority."

And our white commenter, Howard, dared to suggest it was blacks who have a child-like way of looking at the world,…

If you want to see evidence the GOP has been taken over by racist crazies, Former Nevada Lt. Governor Sue Wagner's sad words are more than enough:

Blacks, Winning Our Struggle For Freedom, Didn't Make Whites Magically Become Good, Honest, And Intelligent

Now that the shoe's on the other foot, and black observations can be fully heard - after hundreds of years of almost-unquestioned servitude - whites don't come off as too bright, or kind, or (sorry to say) even human.

Individual whites, sure, but - historically - it appears to be an undeniable fact that Evil is at the core of white's culture. 

Even worse, when seen in the full light of day - with all their pluses and minuses on display - whites, still, will get pretty pissed at any reminder of their culture's true nature and heritage.

I think, they think, their anger will move us.

Like whites, finding something to be pissed about in the truth, is anything new for blacks.

Anger's never moved whites to do anything but initiate some form of (verbal/physical/mental) punishment.

Blacks just stare.

It's black anger that's new - but whites refuse to face it - while desperately trying to convince everyone we're as free as they are.

Whites stay angry, at what they did AND losing control over it, but - since no one's hurting them - they wrongly think their anger is  justified; making them, still, the best ones to police everybody else.

That's insane, considering they have no track record of understanding the ideals they claim to believe in, having betrayed every one through time - starting with "All Men Are Created Equal".

Only blacks and Indians have a cultural pressure, for restraint put on ourselves, enforced by white's anger and lies, seemingly still obsessed with controlling, both, our inner and outer worlds according to them.

Honestly - they call that "freedom" - and think we don't know what they're still doing.

Whites don't want justice in America - never have - never will.

Whites can only be comfortable - and, just as apparently, can only be prosperous - when brutally enslaving others.

White America's only really happy (so far as I can tell) when harassing people, lighter-skinned than we should be already, for being forced to carry them in our veins.

It doesn't make travels to black ancestral countries - where how dark you are matters - as much fun.

Not that whites ever cared about such things - it's always been about them - to them.

Blacks have been carrying lazy, shit-talking, whites for a long, long time.

So, when it comes to America in 2014 - even being led by a black president - white's numbers insure there's nothing new:

Because of white people - America was a racist country:

And - because of white people - America's still a racist country.

You'll get no argument from most on that.

Except from whites.

So - because of them - America's true title is NOT "The Land Of The Free And The Home Of The Brave".

Because of whites - specifically - America deserves a whole new creed: 

That of "A Sick, And Almost Hopeless, Situation,…"
