The Healing (In Order To Burn Out God Must Be On Fire)

Can you imagine the Middle East if this were it's existential conclusion as well?
"Religion cannot and should not be replaced by atheism. Religion needs to go away and not be replaced by anything."

Too many think "spiritual but not religious" (AKA NewAge) is a progression but - when the goal is grasping reality - "you can believe what you want to believe" acts mostly as a placeholder to either postpone, or avoid, stepping out toward atheism all together.
Exit polls show those listing "none" for religion was 12% of the electorate in 2012. In 1984, it was only 4%. 12% is a bigger slice of the voting pie than Hispanics or Asians, and about the same as African Americans.

"Spiritual but not religious" is sort of a "open-minded" purgatory - some say a prison - a place where you're trapped in saying and doing illogical things for someone else's (now adopted) illogical reasons, until you come to your senses.
"To meet people who’ve been out of the cult — I mean, yeah, you want to ask them about Xenu and aliens — but the fact is these are smart people. They’ve just been completely destroyed."

So - instead of a religious nut going on about whatever - you're now a "spiritual" one, railing about homeopathy or studying yoga, still no closer to coming to grips with what's important under the circumstances.
JUNEAU, Wis. (AP) — Two dancers at an exotic club in Juneau have been cited after they allegedly brawled over a dollar bill.
A Post-Crescent of Appleton report says one of the women is pregnant.
Dodge County deputies say they were called to Silk Exotic last week to break up a fight. They say it started when a customer tried to give a dollar to one of the dancers but the other dancer took it.
The sheriff's report says both women began to brawl. They tussled on the floor, punching, slapping and pulling each other's hair. Other dancers and customers separated the two.

And they're also forever wasting more time, money, and lives - and causing even more brutal but unseen harm as they do so - while supporting a criminal class of frauds very, very well.
She claims she has always had a very good sixth sense and intuition and charges her clients £40 per session.
Linda said: 'It's a gift that I can't describe. I don't see ghosts but I do feel, sense and smell things. 'I can feel if someone is a good person and I can smell emotions. The smells are different kinds of smells to perfumes or body lotions - they are not of this realm.
'We are all different. Some people can play piano and I can't. I am not special or anything, I am just different.'
Linda's parents emigrated to the UK from Poland. She used to work as a secretary and had also worked in factories and as a cleaner, but always felt she was destined for more spiritual things. As the phone calls from clients began to flood in, Linda started to rack up some impressive celebrity visitors.
She said: 'I just said to myself one day, "I am never going to work for anyone else again because I am so different," so I left work and put an advert in Prediction magazine and then the rest is history.'

It's the history of the 20th Century, slowly coming to an end, just as any-but-methodically as it began.
Harris, the creator of the entire project, came out on stage and answered questions as all the actors sat in the audience around us. He said he was interested in the immersive qualities of the project, and how, when forced to enter an environment instead of just watching a film as a distanced observer, people become more wrapped up in the questions he sought to raise about faith and reason, fantasy and reality. But I left with only one question, ultimately: what was the point?
If it was to cause me to continuously look over my shoulder for the rest of the night, then they succeeded.

It's only through these groups (and the ideas they support) coming apart, that individuals within them - and the society they live in - can be successful again.
"In all these cases, and many others, liberals take positions that make them look good and feel good and show very little interest in the actual consequences for others, even when liberal policies are leaving havoc in their wake."

Until then, atheists will be stuck watching them fighting, for (and over) dead bodies and nothing more.
FAIRFIELD, Iowa (AP) - The followers of a meditation practice that has roots in ancient India say it's simple: Close your eyes, silently repeat a mantra and relax. But a dispute among rivals for control over its teaching is anything but peaceful, featuring personal attacks, aggressive lawyering and accusations of improper business practices.

Real Starship Troopers: Would You Like To Learn More?

Surprise, Kids! Here's (yes!) another new documentary with a cult theme - it's called The Institute:
A missing girl, a cult-like organization and its guru, a well-meaning public agency no one has ever heard of, and the actual brick-and-mortar cities of the San Francisco Bay Area. These are the ingredients in a reality-bending game profiled in Spencer McCall’s documentary film The Institute, which showed at this year's Slamdance Film Festival. More than 10,000 people played the Games of Nonchalance, but who was behind them and what was the point?
This one's a lark - it's actually a film about a cult-themed game - but the set-up is based on a understanding of cult psychology and environment, starting with unleashing it on San Francisco, where - armed with little-to-no information at all - many curious "open-minded" types simply do as they're told. Ought to be somewhat as entertaining as watching the real thing:

DRUDGEry

DRUDGE has got Rush Limbaugh saying "'We're in midst of designed class and race wars'...

To which I reply, sure, and you guys are playing into it perfectly.

DRUDGE has got John Boehner saying Obama’s goal is to 'annihilate' the Republican Party.

Which, last I checked, is also what we were trying to do to the Democrats.

DRUDGE has got to grow up one day,...

Each Time I Hear One Of These I Think (That's My Song!)

"Rockhouse," naturally:

And don't forget Ernie Freeman's version on the organ - either one could be the TMR theme,...

Discovering How A Hard Head Makes For A Soft Behind

This is getting pretty old, pretty fast - I tell you something, then we have to wait days, weeks, months, or even years, to see someone else noticed what was obvious when I said it:

"Cult-like followings appear to be something of a trending topic among dramas this season."

You don't say? Well, apparently not only hadn't I noticed but none of my "friends" in blogging noticed either. They didn't notice it's happening, that I mentioned it first, that it's a topic worth mentioning (nothing about cults is worth mentioning according to this crew) that there's a reason for the attention on cults, or that my long-term attention to the subject has been (shall we say) "prophetic".

Sure, almost two years ago, Glenn Reynolds can write, "The Crack Emcee is saying I Told You So. He’s been kinda hard on the whole New Age thing for a while," but as this dangerous, decisive, and too-long-neglected subject moves to the center of America's cultural conscienceness, my insights aren't as worthy of mention on Instapundit's political blog as, say, the "7 Benefits Of Having Sex.

(They do their dirty work in Tennessee, too, Glenn.)

All this action going on - an actual opportunity to chase down a true menace to society, and (since I mention the legacy of the Nazis so often) one featuring it's own concentration camps - but, instead, they're discussing Michelle Obama's eye rolls and whether or not Beyoncé lip-synchs.

After losing an election with a Mormon, and after conservatives acknowledged that cult(ure) - not politics - moves this nation, none of these bloggers have much more than a single post on cults.

Or my work on them.

But cults and cultish thinking ARE the story of our era.

And whether we have to wait days, weeks, months, or even years more, time will tell it - since others won't - and in a manner befitting the transgression,….

This Is The Greatest Example, Of The Thought Process Necessary For A Man And Woman To Be Friends, Ever

I'm enlightened, and evolved, and all those other "e" words, but I'm,...not,...quite,...there,...yet,...

One Public Petition I'd Like To See Quickly Submitted To The White House For Action (And It's From The Dead,...)

Stop (Confusing Jailhouse Rock With A Power Crystal)

The NewAge created the world we can see, and one that was unseen:
"I really wasn’t welcome at the BBC. They froze me out, because I don’t believe in global warming. My career dried up. I was thrown out of my own conservation groups and I got spat at in London.

Also with millions and millions of voices deemed unworthy of being heard:
"You owed it to me, Lance, and you dropped the ball. After what you’ve done to me and what you’ve done to my family, and you couldn’t own up to it? Now we’re supposed to believe you?
You had one chance at the truth, and this was it,…He used to be my friend and he decimated me."

Draw a finger through the dust and cobwebs on any page of their "ancient teachings" and we'll be sure to glean (sparkling as ever) the "spiritual" truths they've been seeking from below:
"They're pretty wacky. And it takes a special kind of asshole to bully a cancer patient."

Higher truths they had every intention of bestowing on us - whether we liked it or not:
"One, to lie about it, and two, to coordinate this death on the same day that I lost my grandmother, I don’t know."

But all the signs said that wasn't the way it's going down:

"Fuck those people! There’s no way I’ll ever get involved with that son-of-a-bitchin’ group. All they want is my money."

So we should be cool, as long as nobody teaches 'em how to walk for a while,...

I Want The Old News Back

So, what was the big non-news story yesterday? Oh yeah, Lupe Fiasco. And today, it's Michelle Obama rolling her eyes. Seriously - along with introducing an early primer on gay slang - they've been reduced to analyzing body language (an exact science) before tap-tap-tapping away, to let us know their trust-me-it's-accurate conclusions. It kind-of makes me wonder:

Between politicians and journalists (and other bloggers) who wastes our time more?

And Doing It Well (While Hating That Gawd-Awful Tattoo)

"What is fucking for $500, Alex?"

Astrology Corner (You're Gonna Get It)

Between sets I chatted with concert-goers about the rap lyrics debate. Vinayak Londhe, a 26-year-old manager for Zodiac, a flashy Indian clothing label, was a little surprised he didn’t have to cross a picket line to get into Snoop’s concert. “I was thinking it was going to be controversial,” Londhe said, sporting a chic dress shirt with a black-and-white striped Nehru collar. “People complain about Honey Singh but Snoop Dogg is much bigger.” He chalked up the inconsistency to Snoop rapping in English while Singh raps in an Indian vernacular language that is more accessible to the masses of the subcontinent. When I asked to snap his photo, he obliged, flashing the gangsta hand signal for “West Coast.”
Jackie Chan may have stirred up a maelstrom in the US, but in Asia, he's laughing all the way to the bank. Last month, the 58-year-old action star claimed in an interview that the US is "the most corrupt" country in the world, and argued that Chinese citizens should keep criticisms of their country to themselves.
"If you talk about corruption, the entire world, the America, has no corruption? [It is] the most corrupt in the world," he said in a Dec. 13 broadcast on Hong Kong-based Phoenix TV.
When the comments spread to the American press last week, they sparked widespread controversy.
Yet while the comments aroused indignation in the US, where Chan built his film career, they have done nothing to dent the popularity of his new film, "CZ12" (short for Chinese Zodiac).

Profess, Sir

Lupe Fiasco got kicked off stage for criticizing Obama - fine. Stupid all around, but fine. If that's what it takes for these morons on the Right to notice Rap, I'll take it, but only as a further demonstration of how politically off-base our side is, in outlook, strategy, and (most importantly) results.

I mean, what is this "story" going to get us? A day's return, if that? No votes swayed, nothing. It's not like conservatives are really impressed by Lupe's views, so we gain nothing by airing them.

An ego boost, maybe, if you're a very small person.

If you accept the notion that Rap acts as some sort of Black CNN, contrast his Lupe fiasco (heh) with what's really going on in conservative minds - and compare that with what the unnoticed Kanye West (another Obama "knucklehead") has had going on all along:

From a pop culture point of view, it is interesting to note that [Kanye's] short-film, intended to be viewed by the general public (especially young people), describes the concept of power with overt Masonic symbolism and occult references. This causes the uninformed viewers to unconsciously associate those symbols with the concept of Power, while “those in the know” get the “insider’s wink” sent by this video. Power ultimately becomes another piece in the on-going process called the “Revelation of the Method,” where the true source of power gradually and subliminally reveals itself to the world and occult rituals take place right in front of the public’s eyes.
How long before the complete revelation?

Or - asked another way - how long before conservatives discover what's a threat? Where it's coming from? What's got legs and is *truly* politically exploitable? Lupe's to the left of Obama - and mad about it. Big deal. Kanye's bigger than he is, and Kanye (or someone working on his behalf) has multiple daily "occult rituals take place right in front of the public’s eyes" specifically as a way of getting subversive ideas into the minds of their kids. And it's working like a charm. Mom.

If you ask this conservative, a real "teaching moment" should be in order,…

Black People Watch White People And Get Embarrassed

You can put this in the file marked "More Shit You Don't See Every Day"...

The Ugliest One They've Done It With (Against Their Will)

"I'm not a fortune teller / I won't be bringing news of what tomorrow brings:
I'll leave that up to you,..."
-- Maroon 5, Fortune Teller

Folks, when I notice somebody, in TMR's site-specific way, you can say I'm practically pinning a sign on their back to stay noticed. Not in the media but in reality. One time for the cameras? Sure:

Nothing up my sleeves - Presto!

Whether you look at Mitt and The Mo's, bad Republicans, Scientology, Glenn Reynolds - even the Democrats - if TMR has voiced the opinion they needed to slow their roll, ethically, they seem to be slowed or slowing. It ain't just the post-holiday news period. Something significant may be happening:

Nothing's working for them because - if you ask me - reality (as some have stated) is finally rearing it's ugly head. They don't know what to do, so they're scared (not surprising for intellectual cowards).

Why I waste my time - with these guys still at the head of the pack - is anybody's guess:

By the look of things, they're doing just fine without me.

"Your guru must screw you for a new you."

True, true - I'd better move to dealing with loss,…
