ReplyDeleteUnless we want to call the whole and entirety of the human species by that appellation (which would be closer to the truth than separating one group or another out: Homo sapiens, according to the science we now have, is all descended from an incredibly small, < 100,000 if remembered correctly, group; we are not an incredibly genetically diverse lot -- that's including the miniscule contributions of Neanderthal blood that may be present in modern humans, a theory which has its critics -- we should probably do away with categorizing people with broad brush strokes, as for our own genetic health expanding individual genetic sequences and avoiding bottlenecks is probably our best hope for the future). That would mean approaching people on a more individual basis however, which is difficult.
Our problems seem to be of a sort rather like a bunch of rival packs of chimps fighting over the same fruit and nut trees than anything deeper -- but it is nonetheless the font of our ongoing and pernicious problems.
Personally, yes, it is all bullshit, but it is persistent bullshit with no remedy nor end in sight.
