Uh, no, art isn't commerce. Art can and does get sold, but that doesn't make it good.
ReplyDeleteIf that was the case, the knick knacks you can pick up at the local truck stop would be considered fine art -- although some of that may have more merit than some of the stuff going for big bucks at the Sundance store just on its better attention to good construction.
Nonetheless, neither hold much true artistic merit.
