Chokwe Lumumba, Mayor of Jackson, Mississippi, has died at 66.

Born in Westside Detroit as Edwin Finley Taliaferro -- a name he referred to as his "slave name" -- the activist and lawyer was an active and prominent voice in the reparations and other self-determination movements of persons of African descent.
