 'I'm not usually racist' HAS to be one of the most honest statements heard recently. Bravo.

Except for Haitian, spoken in Florida, there is no reflection of blackness in America. If your descendants were brought here in a slave ship, you have no cultural anchor to hang onto, except for what your people made out of the experience. There's no vacations back to "the old country" to let the pressure off or understand yourself more - as most others have. There's no money coming from ancestors and family "back home" - as most others have. There's no strength coming from a history of anything. How anyone can think blacks don't deserve reparations blows my mind. How anyone can wonder why we stay so angry does, too. Where does it get to go?

 

For 20 years, I was married to a French woman more devoted to FIVE of the Top 10 Worst Alternative Health Practices Influencers Pedal than our marriage, which has left me triggered and abused - and probably will for as long as I live - since American society's also decided there will be no escaping even the worst Alternative Health Practices. Swing And A (Ole) Miss

In 2007, Michael Lewis, author of "The Blind Side," explained what the Touhy family and Michael Oher got themselves mixed-up in: 

"Google him now, he's on the Dean's list at Ole Miss, which, which says a lot about the Dean's list at Ole Miss. There are schools like Ole Miss, and Ole Miss isn't even the best example, they seem mainly to exist to sustain a football team and then they take these kids many of them are from the underclass - poor black kids from ghettos around America - and let them into the school. And then they make a track for them inside the school - and the track is not designed for them to get an education, or even to engage with the school outside the football team."

So Ole Miss - the school that barred James Meredith at the door a few months before I was born - is making another appearance on TMR, in less than a week, for mistreating blacks. And Michael Lewis said they do it like it was almost common knowledge.

Michael Oher trusted the Touhys (what choice did he have?) and the Touhys, probably innocently, fed Michael Oher into the racist Ole Miss system. And now, Michael Oher is, at the very least, under-educated, and becoming quite paranoid, having been through the sinister system, and situation that, upon recognition that this is your life in a 'America' that represents "freedom" to so many, you can't even start to fight back (that shit's practically not allowed) also, probably, turned his mother into a crackhead decades before. I mean, what-in-the-fucking FUCK?

Like I said, I'm 62 years old. Born right after James Meredith staged his protest at Ole Miss, for Michael Oher and I. That's too long for all these people, in all these powerful institutions, to be openly getting away with any form of racism (in a society supposedly enlightened to it) for many blacks to ever believe we'll win. Because the evidence, all too often, says it ain't necessarily so. 

No matter what happens from this, the Touhys will come out of it, maybe emotionally scarred, but essentially fine. But Michael Oher - no matter how much money he has - started his life in this situation, and he will end his life in this situation. And that's the reality of racism, that escapes Michael Lewis, the Touhys, all the folks at Ole Miss, and even America itself.

But not me, Michael Oher, his Momma, or probably most of the people we know.

Hell, I was once chased from an ATM by a mob in France.

And there's your reason for reparations, again: this is our lives, and it's just not been fair.

 

On Cynicism & Gullibility In America, Part I

 

Because I think so highly of Victor Davis Hanson's radical review, the Second World Wars are probably as good a place to start this, as any. Plus, it was our battle against fascism, with its inherit racism and antisemitism, that revealed the hypocritical position America’s in, now. 

   

Black soldiers came back from the war, knowing America didn't really mean anything it fought for, igniting the Civil Rights movement. This brings us to the era of Martin Luther King, Jr.. 

   

Whites tend to focus on King’s 1963 “I Have A Dream” speech, dissecting it from the man, the rest of what he said and stood for, or the hardening attitudes, held at the time, that prompted King to have to make the speech. By the time he was killed, in 1968, polling amongst whites had him in the low 30s. Hardly a devoted following.

   

Blacks tend to take a more nuanced position, because the man wasn't finished with his work when he was murdered. But whites don't seem to want to focus on anything but that speech, for instance, ignoring, dismissing, or being outright hostile to King’s call for reparations. 

   

This is an American betrayal, to blacks, who believed in the entirety of King’s dream - and the claim that white’s did, too. The question for blacks then became “What do we do with this?”

Betrayals tend to make people go crazy. If the rules don't apply to some, they don't apply to others. We're seeing how the rules haven’t applied, now, with Hunter Biden. And the fact, his father threw more blacks in prison than any other politician, really makes the point sting.
