The Tedious Cult Of America's TV Culture

"NEW YORK (AP) - John McCain supporters who believe they haven't gotten a fair shake from the media during the Republican's candidacy against Barack Obama have a new study to point to.

Comments made by sources, voters, reporters and anchors that aired on ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts over the past two months reflected positively on Obama in 65 percent of cases, compared to 31 percent of cases with regards to McCain, according to the Center for Media and Public Affairs.

ABC's 'World News' had more balance than NBC's 'Nightly News' or the 'CBS Evening News,' the group said.

Meanwhile, the first half of Fox News Channel's "Special Report" with Brit Hume showed more balance than any of the network broadcasters, although it was dominated by negative evaluations of both campaigns...

'For whatever reason, the media are portraying Barack Obama as a better choice for president than John McCain,' said Robert Lichter, a George Mason University professor and head of the center. 'If you watch the evening news, you'd think you should vote for Obama.'"

-- David Bauder, offering more proof that liberals have a down-and-dirty hatred for any attempt at "fair and balanced" reporting of their lousy ideas, on Breitbart.com.

Knowing the difference between broadcasting and bullshit - and cults and culture - can make watching TV a trial these days, and it's lilly-livered liberals who have put our brains on the stand, but the verdict still gets passed by:

  1. If McCain's campaign wasnt mostly negative, maybe the media wouldnt put out so many negative reports.

  2. Man, the self-imposed blindness of Obama supporters is a thing to behold. Are you seriously telling me you don't see Obama's bogus charges of racism by the McCain campaign? Obama's got four times the money McCain has - because he lied about taking public funds - and has been running four times the negative ads. But you see nothing wrong with all that, right?

And where is the national press? They polled Democrat 100-1 for donations. Slate Magazine (owned by The Washington Post) admitted their newsroom was 55-1 Obama. MSNBC and CNN are the Obama networks. Yet you think you're getting the straight dope from them? Give me a break. Even worse, if you do believe that, you think everyone should be as dopey in the head as you are. Your country deserves better from you.

Hell, YOU deserve better from you.

BTW - how's it feel to be in a cult?

  3. You might just consider that it's not the majority that's crazy and in a cult, but YOU. Maybe they just don't believe the supposed facts you keep repeating. Itll all be over in a few days and you people can spend the next 8 years crying about it.

  4. Um, excuse me, but facts are like math: they can't be argued with. I'm not floating my opinion, or asking you to "believe" anything, but feeding you the facts as they're revealed. Liberals may claim that FOX News lies to us but the facts don't bear that out. The liars are the news programs liberals flock to - the stations that sell what they want to "believe". (Isn't it hilarious that when Christians say they "believe" in Jesus Christ, liberals snicker at their foolishness, but, when it comes to liberal "beliefs", we're all supposed to fall in line and take them seriously?)

So, no, I don't have to consider if I'm wrong because I'm not under anyone's spell. I know racists, criminals, and liars when I see them and they're all lined up behind Barack Obama, waiting for a chance to pounce. You can do whatever you want - and you will - but, if you do so without the aid of facts, you're a fool deserving of whatever you get - and that looks like a bunch of racists, criminals, and liars.

Think fast: you're running out of time to get this one right.

  5. "You're proof that a psychotic sees facts that arent really there."

And you're proof that cultists are people who will ignore facts that are. Or do I need to remind you that you're saying this nonsense on a post about the results of a study? What's the problem? Don't like those results, so you decided to project your beliefs by splitting your spleen on me? Very cultish behavior. Positively delusional. Since you're so big on projection, I'll just have to assume you have a shrink as well (I don't, BTW, and have no idea what would make you assume I did. I've never mentioned such a thing). If I'm right, and you do have a shrink, then I'm sure you'll have a lot to discuss when all this is over.

Starting with what a fact is.
