2002 - The Commission submitted its final report, which recommends across-the-board “integration” of “CAM” — a situation that would promote unscientific practices and waste countless millions of taxpayer dollars. Two Commissioners warned the report was biased and the process corrupt.
2003 - A Summary of the Final Report of the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy: They disagreed with spirituality as a form of CAM, the assumption the public wants CAM, and the statement conventional medicine “lacks adequate treatment for pain,...”
2016 - Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders: Embracing "integrative medicine" quackery? A colleague sent me a photo of Bernie Sanders at a 2010 integrative medicine conference. His right ear is full of acupuncture needles...I was working with the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians in early 1993 when a call came through from the Clinton White House. Say what?
2016 - Americans Spent $30.2 Billion Out-Of-Pocket On Complementary Health Approaches: “It is extremely important to provide evidence-based information to help inform decisions,” said Josephine P. Briggs, M.D., director of NCCIH. “This underscores the importance of research to know whether the products and practices are safe and effective.”
2018 - $142 Million For Quack Medicine Buried Inside The New Budget: This is a 9% increase over the NCCIH's 2017 budget of $130.5 million. Is this because they've discovered new and effective treatments? Alas, no. NIH has been spending money on so-called alternative medicine since 1992. The budget has increased from just $2 million to $142 million this year. NIH has spent $2.366 billion on its alternative medicine center.
2019 - The Problem With The National Center For Complementary And Integrative Health: There is no function the NCCIH can serve that could not be better carried out by other organizations within the NIH,....
