In The Gaslighting of the American Mind, J. Peder Zane says "Democrats are the party of make believe" - a sentiment I, wholeheartedly, agree with.

But, so are the Republicans, who keep asking how blacks can vote with Democrats, while violently attacking anyone who'd dare point out how racist, and dogmatic, the GOP membership is (including the GOP, when it said so, in it's own 2012 Election Autopsy). Being resistant to the truth, even when you ask for it, is just deciding to keep abusing us. Not that anyone cares.

At the base level, as America's ex-slaves, blacks are the nation's traumatized, political piñatas - playthings, NOT American citizens - and, I think, that's the reasoning that animates both political parties.
