Once You Know They're NewAgers You've Got Everything They Think Pretty Much Figured Out

Ha! This is hilarious - and more proof these NewAge weirdos are always on the wrong side:
One person who won't be attending the U.S. premiere of artist Julian Schnabel's new film at the United Nations on Monday: Long Island Rep. Pete King.

Schnabel and writer Rula Jebreal had written to King after the kickoff of his controversial hearings about Muslim radicalization last week and challenged him to watch "Miral," which portrays a Palestinian woman who becomes radicalized against Israel.

But the Republican chairman of the Homeland Security Committee gave seeing the movie a thumbs-down.

" I'm not going," King said. "I've got a lot of things to do. I've got to get back to Washington. "

Schnabel, a Golden Globe winner, and Jebreal were outraged by King's hearings.
I bet they are. And what was Schnabel going to do if King did show up?

Probably introduce him to Schnabel's pet psychic,...

Everything Involves You Picking Up The Soap,...

Man, it's a good thing I can't hang a "fortune teller" shingle out front, because I'd be cleaning up:
The upcoming hearings on Islamic radicalization, to be presided over by Representative Peter T. King, the  Republican from  Long Island who is chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, have already prompted much protest. One critic, Rabbi Marc Schneier, president of the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding, said the hearings are by definition unjust since they “single out Muslim-Americans as the source of homegrown terrorism.” The committee should instead “examine all forms of violence motivated by extremist belief.”

This controversy calls to mind the often clamorous proceedings of what might prove to be a forerunner of Mr. King’s investigations, those held by the House Committee on Un-American Activities. HUAC, as it came to be known, is best remembered today for its “Red-hunting” sessions in the late 1940s. The witnesses, “friendly” and “unfriendly,” included the “Hollywood Ten” and government officials, some of whom were or were accused of, or admitted to having been, Communist Party members or even Soviet agents.
Yes, indeed. Now, I guess, all I've got to work on are my skills as a hypnotist,...

Cold Getting Stupid (Or Finally Wizening Up)

"A Public Policy poll lists that an astounding 44 percent of those interviewed said they would now prefer George W. Bush to President Obama. Bush's post-9/11 security protocols kept us safe, Iraq will probably work, and his regrettable deficits and big spending proposals like No Child Left Behind and the prescription-drug benefit, in comparison to the ongoing $1.7 trillion deficts and the $9 trillion more slated to come in the next few years, make Bush seem almost fiscally sound."
-- Victor Davis Hanson, proving we can witness the impossible - without any form of mysticism involved - way out here in the real world, according to The National Review.

When "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow" Becomes "Jesus H. Christ On A Bicycle, Just Don't Stop Thinking, You Fucking Nitwit!"

"I can't talk to that. I can talk about the future. And here's the future. The future is we have borders."

-- Janet Napolitano, U. S. Secretary of Homeland Security - reduced to making no sense what-so-ever (unless she's arguing with the ghost of John Lennon's Imagine) - after being informed she was wrong on certain border control and terrorism issues, in the National Post.
