The idea, that the oppressed and the oppressor are the same, is big in whitey's world:

…it may be that having a black family in the White House just drives some people around the bend,…”

That would totally fit, with American history and culture, but don't expect whites to ever admit it's true:

Althouse Trumpeted A Poll "Nobody Takes Seriously"

He wouldn't vote for Scott Walker - but Ann will - because she supports civil rights!

Here's what Althouse posted on October 1st about the Marquette University poll - in her usual white feminist style:

"31% of Madison voters are for Walker? That's a lot!"

But here's what Slate says about it today:

"The Real Clear Politics polling average has Walker up by just 2.2 percentage points over Democratic nominee Mary Burke, and that number is inflated by a recent Marquette University poll nobody takes seriously that shows him with a seven-point lead. The latest data, from Public Policy Polling, has him up by just one point (well within the margin of error)."

If Ann's political instincts are as well-honed as they are about sports, we might get Barry Goldwater Lite out of there yet,...

No Diggity: Althouse "Support" For Kansas City Bombs

The Kansas City Royals lost The World Series to the San Francisco Giants last night. Anybody else still remember Althouse's previous thoughts on the subject? I do:

"They look so happy now, the people of Kansas City, and I'd rather support them than the imperious San Francisco….”

And there went any hope Kansas City had of beating us, because Althouse is currently excelling at doing everything she can to be "happy" on the wrong team:

Fighting that good fight, against racism, by posting polls of frustrated white opinion - knowing whites outnumber blacks 6 to 1 - without a single comment that it's white supremacy she's been rooting for. 

Supporting Scott Walker, the smiling white guy with racist friends, for Wisconsin's governor - knowing he's going to run for president.

Going along with unconstitutional laws to block black voters nationwide.

Calling for "panic" over the first black president's rational response to her own ignorant, racist, delusional Drudge-led-by-the-nose non-crisis - actually encouraging white hysteria on the black man's watch. 

And, this week, Ann posted this racist catcalling video that edited out all the white guys (how'd the supposedly non-racist Ann miss what any fool could see? Was it on purpose?) Ann could care less, as long as it advanced her bullshit agenda.

But, for now, we can be "happy" the Royals still lost.

It's great symbolism.

Maybe, instead of being "happy," Althouse should hope she and other whites can grasp "meaning"....

The Peculiar Institution's More Peculiar Without Racists

It’s worth noting a study from last year that measured racial resentment in the states of the former Confederacy. Researchers found two things: First, that whites in these areas expressed more racial resentment than their counterparts in the North, and second, that they were dramatically more likely to vote Republican and support Republican policies. Which fits with what we know about the region’s political history, namely, that its conservatism is tied to its slave-owning past.

None of this is to say the Republican Party is “racist,” or that Democrats don’t have their own problems on race. But one thing is clear: to whites in the South, the Democratic Party is seen as friendly to minorities—and blacks in particular—in a way that isn’t true of Republicans, and that drives voting behavior.

A poll released by McClatchy-Marist on Wednesday shows that former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton holds a commanding lead over pretty much every GOP candidate for the 2016 Presidential election. When heads up with any one of the potential candidates the GOP may run out, Clinton holds anywhere from an 8 to 21 point lead. The poll also reiterates what we’ve known for some time now–Chris Christie’s national aspirations are over.

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) is the one candidate who was able to fare best against Clinton.

Let’s be clear: I wouldn’t vote for Rick Santorum for dog-keeper if the other candidate were a dog. He’s a committed Christian conservative – actually, a Catholic conservative, a subtle but important distinction – who is forcefully opposed to abortion rights and marriage equality, and rejects the scientific consensus on climate change. I do not lament the fact that he didn’t get elected to national office (and never will). But amid all the overheated anti-Obama rhetoric and wild, unfulfillable promises of the Iowa campaign, Santorum comes off as the only candidate who isn’t telling people exactly what they want to hear, and who isn’t fueling hatred for its own sake.
