No Wonder It's So Well-Written: It's White!!!

If one is obsessed with viewing everyone and everything in America through the prism of race, then the 88% white New York Times editorial board and the white paper's stable of 81% white columnists clearly don't read their own editorials. No wonder Black Bob Herbert is so cranky all the time. One of the two black tokens on the Op-Ed page, Black Bob is forced to work with more white guys than David Duke. Black Bob would actually see more black faces if his white bosses let him take the company limo and its black driver over to New Haven to catch the next five-alarm. As for a wise Latina or Latino on the page? Nada."

Some People Can Only See The Negative

A couple of agitated yahoos in a rally of thousands yell something offensive and incendiary, and John McCain and Sarah Palin are not just guilty by association -- with total strangers, mind you -- but worse: guilty according to The New York Times of 'race-baiting and xenophobia.'

But should you bring up Barack Obama's real associations -- 20 years with Jeremiah Wright, working on two foundations and distributing money with William Ayers, citing the raving Michael Pfleger as one who helps him keep his moral compass (Chicago Sun-Times, April 2004) and the long-standing relationship with the left-wing vote-fraud specialist ACORN -- you have crossed the line into illegitimate guilt by association. Moreover, it is tinged with racism.

The fact that, when John McCain actually heard one of those nasty things said about Obama, he incurred the boos of his own crowd by insisting that Obama is 'a decent person that you do not have to be scared (of) as president' makes no difference. It surely did not stop John Lewis from comparing McCain to George Wallace.

The search for McCain's racial offenses is untiring and often unhinged. Remember McCain's Berlin/celebrity ad that showed a shot of Paris Hilton? An appalling attempt to exploit white hostility at the idea of black men 'becoming sexually involved with white women,' fulminated New York Times columnist Bob Herbert. He took to TV to denounce McCain's exhumation of that most vile prejudice, pointing out McCain's gratuitous insertion in the ad of 'two phallic symbols,' the Washington Monument and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Except that Herbert was entirely delusional. There was no Washington Monument. There was no Leaning Tower. Just photographs seen in every newspaper in the world of Barack Obama's Berlin rally in the setting he himself had chosen, Berlin's Victory Column."

I Can See Through You

Over the King Holiday, I'd been thinking about all the recent "race" bullshit a lot, and it strikes me as being just that - so much bullshit:

Don Imus (who I, and many others, like) didn't do anything wrong - and got paid well for it - and then, after losing his job under false pretenses, got his job (and his money) back.

The Duke Lacrosse Team got railroaded by Mike Nifong - and the black community - but nobody's holding the black community (or their white supporters other than Nifong) accountable.

And several recent firings over bogus race charges, mostly addressing Tiger Woods' sensibilities - even after Tiger said he wasn't bothered or affected in any way by the so-called "offenses" - are just wrong and totally over-the-top.

What's interesting about all this is the passionately twisted, liberal thrust of them all:

Someone is trying to prove something here, but, like The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight, the accusers seem incapable of stopping themselves from hitting the wrong guys. Where they imagine racism - or just make it up - somebody (white) must pay. Where real racism exists, the victims can't find a friend.

Why is that?
