The Right-Wing Finally Proves Why It'll Never Get MLK

Bayard Rustin, the Civil Rights Movement's very-gay Chief Strategist, and MLK

Wow: Sarah Palin's ignorant ramblings about how "our original civil rights freedom fighters are rolling in their graves over the backward steps we’ve taken lately" have probably turned out to be true, now that Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum and the Duggars reportedly got together to sign a Rick Scarborough petition - advocating anti-gay discrimination "in the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King." How that works (in the minds of Palin and/or the rest) is anybody's guess, but I do know what exists as a conservative affliction: Those representing King's opposition - in contemporary times - imagining, and proclaiming, he'd be on their side.

Look, lying's in the Right's blood. It's left over from slavery. It's how they rationalized the horrors they were committing to themselves. And they still need justifications for what they do today - though they don't have niggas.

Don't be surprised if they all start claiming they're black soon,...

Sarah Palin, You're An Ignorant Dingbat (Plus A Racist)

It's always a wonder to me how conservative whites will speak on MLK's "character" comment, without understanding American history - something "our original civil rights freedom fighters" understood well - or the fact it's white's character that's also being judged. And all that unmentioned theft, lynching, discrimination, forced segregation, etc., by whites are only part of it:

So, what "backward steps" have "we taken" when "passing" has been done, both ways, many times before without comment?

Sorry, Goofy Lady, but you shouldn't be laughing, because whites who speak on that which they don't understand are - by example - showing extremely bad character,...

Sarah Got Drunk & Said A Black President Can't Holder

Sarah Palin's been irrelevant for a while now but, today - maybe after nipping a little too much at the cooking sherry - she went on (what seemed to be) such a tipsy tirade against the presidentAttorney General Eric Holder, and their perception of racism in America, TMR's re-setting her 15 Minutes Of Fame Clock.

It's quite the sight, this woman - who's shown no insight or aptitude on the subject of race - lecturing two black men that they are, not just wrong but, trying to be deceptive by bringing it up. And naturally, she'd rather pivot to impeachment, because (even she has to know) we're aware there's no substance to her claim of understanding their motivations, making her whole rap a sieve.

Only the most ignorant of whites will get sucked into it,...

The Tea Party Addresses Slavery (Never Sees Blacks)

Tea Partiers are far ahead of everybody else on race, precisely because they don't see it.

Why, they're so far ahead - by the time the rest of us catch up to where they are - they'll probably have been out of business for a long, long time,...

Dog Whistle! Dog Whistle! (Sung Like Queen's "Bicycle")

Come on, can you get more disingenuous? She has to know how credible this message is, coming from her - a stupid play for racist attention and applause. Like she's ever said anything viable about slavery, or racism, in her career. She's proven - with her life's work - that blacks, freedom, and liberty are not her concern, yet she has the nerve:

Yeah, and what's she going to do?

Conservatives are sinking deeper in the swamp:

It's hard to grasp, that she was viable as a national candidate,…

FACT: Real Men Don't Engage In This Type Of Behavior

Thank you, Megyn Kelly - and remember, this is what Ann Althouse called "less than nothing,” with she and Glenn Reynolds (with his hair totally on the most exquisitely delusional fire) imagining it's a Christmas anti-white jihad or something equally preposterous:

Ooooh - Megyn Kelly - as deeply influential?

That comment - like most of Glenn's - is just too stupid for words, except:

Good luck with that one, Genius!

I'd think Ann would stop this nonsense by now - it must be the stupid feminist notions she finds attractive:

Surely, Glenn's political track record is starting to speak for itself,...

Taking To The Streets (Only To Discover You're Toast)

"What I think, when I see that memorial closures are the thing that gets conservatives in the streets, is that movement leaders and rank-and-file activists alike cannot be counted on to identify and take on the most serious issues facing veterans, or the most serious threats to liberty. Instead they spend their time seizing on symbolic issues that promise to result in the best optics for a given news cycle—World War II veterans traveled to Washington and can't visit the memorial dedicated to them! Think what victory would mean in this instance: The barricades would come down, which will happen anyway as soon as the government reopens. In other words, there's no substantive upside for this particular rally, whether you're concerned about benefitting veterans or safeguarding liberty. It was held so that Cruz and Palin could aggrandize themselves, so that conservatives could revel in their self-image as liberty loving patriots who honor veterans, and so that the Obama Administration would look bad. Protests are nothing more than political theater for these people. Or if they actually intend to effect change, their strategy verges on nonsensical."

It Don't Change: You Can't Save The Planet With Magic

Three things, real fast, and I'm gone:

1) I don't quote The New York Times much anymore, but our morons have flipped the script enough that even the NYT can crow:

...Politically, the shutdown is terrible for a party trying to rebrand itself. When Bobby Jindal said Republicans have to “stop being the party of stupid,” he swallowed a teaspoon of common sense. That’s been washed away by a river of stupid.”

2) Here's what I just wrote at Lem's a little while ago:

3) And, if we don't get serious about killing the West's cult problem, we will have a bigger one on our hands - grey emphasis mine:

We can do this,...

Choice - Who's Smarter: Sarah Palin Or Thomas Sowell?

Sarah thinks Ted Cruz is Syria and worth defending:
"Sarah Palin is actually right about something.
...Former Governor [Sarah] Palin (R-AK) tweeted, on Sunday, that [Chris] Wallace ought to reveal which sources had sent him the dirt on [Ted] Cruz. She tweeted “@FoxNewsSunday Keep it TRULY fair & balanced. Release the GOP names encouraging you to trash @SenTedCruz. No more anonymous sources.”

Thomas Sowell sees Ted Cruz as the Republican's Vladimir Putin:
"What could possibly rescue Barack Obama from all these political problems and create a distraction that takes all his scandals off the front page? Only one thing: the Republicans.
By making a futile and foredoomed attempt to defund Obamacare, Congressional Republicans have created the distraction that Obama so much needs. Already media attention has shifted to the possibility of a government shutdown.
Politically, it doesn’t matter that the Republicans are not really trying to shut down the government. What matters is that this distraction solves Barack Obama’s political problems that he could not possibly have solved by himself.
The time, effort, and credibility that Republicans are investing in trying to defund Obamacare is a high-risk, low-yield investment."

So who's right for the Right? You know my views:

I'm leaving this one for you,...

Ready! Aim! Fire Everybody Associated With This Crap!

Follow me, sharp shooters:

A few days ago, Glenn Reynolds' message was clear:

"I think the GOP can win even by losing,…"

But today's message is linked to JIM TYNEN:
Why the Republicans Can’t Give Up Now.
“They would be like Obama and his red line in Syria. They have drawn a red line; to go back is to look feckless and weak. And, worse, ridiculous. Whether the time is right, etc., is irrelevant. Folding would give them no credit; their only recourse is to win. And victory is closer than ever.”

So, are Tynen and I right - winning is still "winning" - and Glenn's experimenting with Charlie Sheen's Tiger Blood

Drudge has got Sarah Palin screaming, Bomb's Away!"

But AP's got Rand Paul admitting to her it's all a delusion.

What to do?

Well, who's right is the wrong question - it's a losing campaign to begin with - so we at least need a lesson for the rest of us.

Get some leaders from this century:

Because, when you're as confused as Glenn and Sarah, bringing down a moose - and bringing down a elephant - are pretty much the same operation,...
