What Does It Hurt That I Don't Buy Your Paper?

"Dattatreya Siva Baba has a vision that the human race will transform itself by the light of the full moon.

You could say that he's a dreamer or even hopelessly naive, and you could be right. But what does it hurt to dream?”
-- David Ian Miller, advertising another idiotic "Indian mystic" liar's NewAge nonsense (about "everything from yogic meditation practices to quantum mechanics") in the San Francisco Chronicle.

  1. You know ... that this stuff is given any legitimacy at all is amazing -- and that large numbers of people swallow it even more so.

I used to think that common sense ruled everyone, over time, but now I'm not so sure.

I'll risk ridicule by thinking that despite any New Age predictions, humanity is indeed moving into a new paradigm.

The only problem is -- half of us are predicated on "wish," while the other half on "experience."

I'll stake my half on experience -- that is, common sense -- every time.

But I think we must face the time when non-thinkers (who occupy fully half of all of us) must be dealt with.

Ugh ... getting a bit existential, here. Sorry.
