"So far as I can tell, conservatives aren’t going through anything like the grief/angst/outrage that Democrats went through after the 2000 and 2004 elections. There may be activists who would like to generate that kind of reaction, but most conservatives have got real lives — jobs and families — and don’t go in for the sturm und drang stuff."
-- Robert Stacy McCain, stating the obvious, as The Other McCain.
Robert Stacy McCain must not being reading the althouse blog, or live in a lower/middle class republican region of the world, if he hasn't experience the "grief/angst/outrage" of conservatives after this election. I sure have.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember Bush's face being on the cover of any newspaper with crosshairs on it either...but, who knows, maybe I just missed it.
ReplyDeleteHe didn't say it hasn't happened; just that it's nothing like the Democrat version - which is still ongoing, even though they won the election:
ReplyDeleteI think they know it was illegitimate and their insecurity about it is overflowing.
But that's just me.

ReplyDeleteYea, you seem to have missed a lot: there was a whole movie based on the premise of the president being shot and killed - an idea that, if it was done about Obama, would probably make his followers go insane with rage but was A-OK as long as it was about either A) a Republican or B) in defense of policies you couldn't be bothered to investigate thoroughly. Whatever.
You missed it.
There's a screenshot from the movie in that link.
