"I'm Worth A Million In Prizes!"

I laugh whenever someone tries to convince me there's worth in "humility." It's like they're demanding I become David Foster Wallace, the author who committed suicide after years of being in the AA cult, and seriously reading a bunch of NewAge Self-Help books:
One surprise was the number of popular self-help books in the collection, and the care and attention with which he read and reread them. I mean stuff of the best-sellingest, Oprah-level cheesiness and la-la reputation was to be found in Wallace's library.
No surprise - the man was a loser. I knew it when I first read him. He was ashamed of being a man, which is but one possible consequence of being into NewAge. Just as, if you use "alternative" medicine and they don't work, you're told it was because you didn't "believe" enough - everything becomes your fault and the idiot who sold you that bill of goods bears no responsibility. People kill themselves over that.

No, humility isn't a male trait - not in healthy males anyway. Whether facing men or women, gay or straight - or whether you're liberal or conservative - you're either "in it to win it" or you're not:

And David Foster Wallace was most definitely NOT,…
