Most people find someone different startling, because we know it's a fact everyone else - even with each "individual" having their own "unique" story - is essentially cut from the same "mainstream" cultural mold.
Out of caution over mainstream reaction, we're forced to kind of just exist among them, watching - almost lost - as they talk about "freedom" the same way, while doing the same things, at basically the same times.
I know, from American history, as I hear the mainstream demanding "compassion for others" - on their terms - they couldn't care less for anyone not mainstream, and they close in on anyone who isn't.
How that "works", Americans have never considered hypocrisy, because it's mainstream to have also, always, had good intentions.
Needless to say, but as some have discovered (myself included in a myriad of ways) it's totally legal to kill Americans with good intentions.
Just frame it as "saving" something - could be anything - and then miss the mark by a mile.
To be cont'd,….
