Without taking on how to fight cultism, Prof. Edzard Ernst always ends up at the same place as TMR:

"Firstly, if people employ homeopathy to protect themselves from infectious diseases like malaria, typhus, TB, AIDS etc., or if people believe those charlatans who promote it as an effective cure for life-threatening conditions, we do have a serious public health issue at hand. Secondly, why should the vast majority of health care professionals bend over backwards to do their very best implementing the concepts of [Evidence Based Medicine], if homeopathy is being given a free ride to continue existing in a virtual universe of belief-based medicine? Thirdly, how on earth can scientists possibly explain 'the science of genetics and how it develops, or the issue to do with climate change', if they lack the skill, courage, power or honesty to adequately respond to harmful quackery masquerading as medicine?"

Exactly - in a world where everyone is too,...whatever,...to distinguish between water and medicine, there can be little hope they can make an intelligent decision on anything else.

The Best And Brightest (At Wasting Time And Money)

Some scams can't be more clear: 

First we discover homeopathy isn't a cure for malaria - the original problem it was "invented" (and claimed) to treat - and now comes news there are allergy-related health risks associated with bee pollen, which, specifically, was the basis for President Bill Clinton's (and especially Senator Tom Harkin's) multi-billion dollar "alternative" medicine boondoggle, The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM).

It should also be noted that, despite years of our taxes being blown on it's anti-science "research" agenda - and Washington D.C.'s supposed interest in this all-important honey of a topic - bee pollen's health risk wasn't even discovered by NCCAM.

Correct-o-mundo, Einstein.

Now once again, repeat after me, despite the pain and embarrassment: 

 We are NOT failing from individual laziness, but from collective stupidity,…

Honesty: "I Guess I Must Be A Bit Of An Idiot!"

We can't believe our ears! Someone who took a homeopathic preparation for malaria (and almost died) called himself an "idiot"! Bravo, old chap, you've graduated back to the realm of reality! Good for you!

There's no shame in his game, unlike the rest who give these criminals billions each year for nothing more than (as one astute reader of TMR put it) "watered down water".

Try finding an arrogant "progressive" at Whole Foods willing to do that!

For What It's Worth (Which Ain't Much)

You've got to love when the obvious becomes undeniable:

According to The Daily Mail, scientists may have come up with a cure for malaria - isn't that great?

But wait - wasn't Homeopathy, originally, the supposed cure for malaria? Wasn't malaria, in fact, the very first disease Samuel Hahnemann (above) claimed to have used his now-famous water cure to defeat? If so, then, why is there a need for another? It's because, clearly, Homeopathy doesn't / can't / won't / is impossible to work. The only mystery is how the lie that water cures malaria - or anything else - ever lasted 200 years.

Of course, if you're paying attention, you already know that Homeopaths are using that lie to kill people - especially but not exclusively - in Africa, where they suspect authorities aren't paying close attention to what they're doing,...and, I might add, doing for money. (Or because they're racists. You can debate that one for yourselves,...)

World-wide Homeopathy is NewAge's equivalent to the nasty phrase "Big Pharma", except practitioners of this so-called "energy medicine" cure no one, and take lives instead of saving them. The latest incident making the news is from Japan, where doctors have kicked the bogus belief system to the curb after the death of a baby. (Children are especially vulnerable, because parents buy into the claim that Homeopathic preparations have "no side effects", without considering the treatment also contains no active ingredients. In other words, Homeopaths use a parent's obvious concern against them, to kill their kids.) We saw this same scenario play out, most famously, in the Thomas Sam case.

So what are Homeopath's going to say in light of this potential malaria cure? That Samuel Hahnemann was wrong? They can't say that because - since malaria was the very first specific ailment Homeopathy was designed to cure - it would prove the whole theory behind it - AKA "like cures like" - was (at best) a mistake or (at worst) a lie. Just like the entire NewAge outlook.

The truth is, as always, what the Homeopathic "community" is going to say about any challenge to their lies is,...nothing. Zip. Nada. They'll continue to ignore the obvious in favor of peddling their nonsense to NewAgers too gullible to think clearly because - let's face it - that's where the profits are.

And profits - not prophets - have always been what the scam of NewAge was about.

NewAge Democrat Cults? What About NewAge Democrat Cults? There Are No Dang NewAge Democrat Cults,...Everything's Perfectly Normal

This is weirder than the claim that Hillary Clinton's presidential run is "a form of feminism meets 21st century new-age thinking" - O.K., maybe that's a true statement, but this is still weird:

According to Bloomberg.com, Democratic Representative Peter Visclosky, who has met numerous times with the peace and anti war community, put a $2 million earmark into the House of Representatives' defense-spending bill for what Keith Ashdown, chief investigator at Taxpayers for Common Sense, calls a "new-age health group" that is "researching yoga, 'bioenergy', and alternative medicines," as well homeopathy, which the National Institute of Health says "has seen high levels of controversy.'' (I'll say, considering it's just water.) The money is supposed to go to billionaire (and Anaheim Ducks owner) Henry Samueli's Samueli Institute for Information Biology in Virginia. Call me stupid but I've got a question:

Why does a NewAge billionaire need our nation's defense money?

Virginia Democrat James Moran (who seems to have serious issues with jews) wants another $1 million for the Center for Research on Integrative Medicine in the Military. (Remember: Virginia is where Samueli's institute is,...) Call me stupid, again, but is it a good idea to give water to our soldiers as medicine?

Iowa Democrat Tom Harkin - who got $61,700 from Hillary Clinton's pyramid scheme pal, Norman Hsu - wants $5 million from the Senate defense bill for "complementary and alternative medicine research", also for Samueli, who got $5.6 million in the 2005 defense bill. According to Bloomberg, those earlier "earmarks were usually described in cryptic reports that gave little clue about who requested the money or who benefited from it."

This isn't unusual for Harkin, since he got then-president Bill Clinton to start the whole new wage alternative medicine ball rolling in Washington. Listen to Clinton:



No one is answering phone calls or returning e-mails. All of the politicians involved have received huge amounts of money from Samueli. His wife, "Susan Samueli (above) chairwoman of the [Sumueli] institute's board, has a diploma from the British Institute of Homeopathy. Wayne Jonas, the president, headed the NIH's alternative-medicine office in the 1990s. His 2005 institute salary, $414,032, was more than twice the $151,556 in average compensation the heads of health- related charities reported earning in 2007,...Jonas earned another $58,000 in 2005 consulting for the Samueli Foundation in California."

Peter Visclosky, the chair of the spending committee, was also recently asked about $1 million for something called the Center for Instrumented Critical Infrastructure, but he claimed he didn't know what it was. When asked if it even existed, he replied "At this time, I do not know, but if it does not exist, the monies could not go to it.”
