So a stupid (that's being kind) manager at Applebee's does what stupid people do best--which is be stupid.
Applebee's corporate apologizes and offers a free dinner and so forth. It seems fairly equitable.
The part that worries me, bothers me, the part I don't like that I haven't seen anyone else mention (I went and read several versions of the story) is the cop that came and gave them a summons for "criminal trespass".
Any cop worth anything (and those are rare these days) would've told the manager to suck it and lecture him on wasting police time and manpower.
I haven't been able to find any good reason why they were ticketed--or anyone holding the cop responsible for being a dick.
