All conservatives had to do was recognize the situation they're in, back Christie early (when he had a 73% approval-rating of a chance) and waltz into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. with their heads held high. But NOOoooo - instead, they arrogantly ignored the situation they're in, relentlessly attacked Christie for an old photo op with the president, and will now walk in shame, with their heads in their hands, to another major defeat. 

Against the embattled Christie, Clinton holds a solid eight-point lead, 48-40. Against Tea Party darling Paul, her lead widens to 14 points. Ryan also trails by double-digits, 51-40.

When You Do Things You Should Know Why

A poll released by McClatchy-Marist on Wednesday shows that former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton holds a commanding lead over pretty much every GOP candidate for the 2016 Presidential election. When heads up with any one of the potential candidates the GOP may run out, Clinton holds anywhere from an 8 to 21 point lead. The poll also reiterates what we’ve known for some time now–Chris Christie’s national aspirations are over.

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) is the one candidate who was able to fare best against Clinton.

TMR: The Tea Party Sabotaged Christie's Presidency

I look at some pretty dark shit but, politically-speaking, this is the saddest headline I've seen all morning:

Chris Christie is Losing the People 

 "Losing the People" - in other words, he had them.

We had them - the Republican Party.

So why would a guy with a 73% approval rating feel he had to pull the kind of shenanigans he did? I've got a theory - short and sweet:

It was the Tea Party's lack of Right-Wing support - and even outright hostility - that caused Christie to feel he had to do whatever it took to keep any other players in line.

I could be wrong on this - and I'm more-than-ready to concede I may be - but that's what I see from the cheap seats.

Not that it matters now anyway.

I still want to take a moment to say "Thanks" to The Big Guy:

Alright, you hardcore Right-Wing lunatics, get your camping gear, we're gonna get high and wander the political wilderness - again:

And I don't see Chris Christie - the absolute best retail talent we've got - doing anything to change that. I wouldn't. Because our party's got too many kooks. So what's the point? Christie's a guy's guy and, more than likely, he's gonna be a guy and say, "Fuck 'em, they don't wanna win? Purity's more important? Fine - go be 'pure' under Hillary - nobody has to suffer fools like you."

And that, as they say, will be that.

How many losses will this be now? Unforced errors? Fiascos? Desperately chasing one worthless made-up "scandal" after another - it's been like watching “Loose Change" all over again.

But, just like with racism, there's no talking to these loonies. They don't feel authentic unless they're being some combination of stubborn, arrogant, and ignorant, leaving results any idiot could've predicted - and has.

Oh well, there's nothing to stop you now - there's the Democrats, stronger than ever, laying in wait - and there you are now, the leader, but without any of the cover Republicans like me and Christie offered. 

We'll, gladly, bring up the rear this go 'round.
