That's College: You Go To Learn - And Find Horndogs!
Is there any doubt why I see Ann Althouse - an American educator - as being part of the problem? Yesterday I wrote we need critical thinking in schools, instead, we get this:
"Show some respect for the conspiracy thinkers out there. And they are out there."
Yeah, she should know - she accused the American government of a murder cover-up, merely because one of the victims in Libya was gay - remember? While, at the same time, she and her crew were pooh-poohing anything substantive and factual about that, or (since he was running at the time) Mitt Romney's Jesus-will-rule-for-1,000-years-using-cold-fusion nonsense. Instead, she mostly told us what a handsome man he was - a handsome man wearing a head the size of Utah.
Talk about having a distorted view of things.
Honestly, between her "marriages" and her various (unforced) statements on the subject, I've seen much more evidence of what turns Ann Althouse on than makes her qualified to teach young people.
And - considering she also plays the feminist card - that's pretty "out there," alright,...

Remember that killing in Libya that Ann Althouse and others were *positive* was a government cover-up? Remember how they got everybody all hot-and-bothered? Did you also notice how they quietly dropped it, and now pretend they aren't crazy? It's infuriating to me:
"I will carry that rage and indignation to my grave. No forgiveness necessary."
Only when we start holding those pushing misinformation in contempt, at least, will I be happier,...

Step forward and greet the truth, my friends, there's no need for a spiritual quest. But just remember, once it's handed to you, don't act like some petulant suburbanite just because it's not the truth you wanted but the only truth there is. Blame yourself. Yes, blame yourself, because you allowed your unskeptical head to be filled with assumptions and lies; pretty fantasies about a glorious utopia, and friends just beyond the horizon, put there by NewAgers who have never been in a fight in their lives and have no business acting as sentries.
I love this exchange. It's just swell. The ladies are getting nervous. The old man smiles.

Isn't it interesting, now that Obama's started his own Middle East war, and all this crowing has started about who the "rubes" are - that with the glowing exception of Andrew Sullivan - there's no one else being called out by name?Kinda leaves the impression somebody plays favorites, don't it? That hardly leads to the conclusion that certain conservative bloggers shoot straight - or play fair,...but I repeat myself.
UPDATE: Stacey McCain has called out Kevin Drum. Why is it always Stacey McCain? Probably because he writes about Southern honor so much. That's gotta be it. He's even been known to get into a few online scrapes. The shit matters.

Bolton, the former ambassador to the United Nations who is weighing a presidential run in 2012, accused President Obama on Friday of failing to address threats to U.S. national security and called the administration's approach to the crisis in Libya "pathetic."I'm not sure "it's over" for us, as the song's quavering refrain says, but, if you ask me, there's definitely no romance left.
Hours after the president warned that the United Nations was ready to launch a military strike to defend the Libyan people if their leader Moammar Kadafi did not halt his attacks on civilians and pull back from the rebel stronghold of Benghazi and three other cities, Bolton cast the president as indecisive, inconsistent and uninterested in foreign policy.
Speaking on the opening night of the state Republican Party convention in Sacramento, Bolton told fellow party members that had he been in charge, he would have moved far more swiftly and would have unilaterally declared a no-fly zone in Libya during the early stage of the crisis.
"Had we acted in those early days, we could have tipped the balance conclusively against Kadafi and this whole thing might be over," Bolton told hundreds of delegates over dinner in the ballroom of a downtown hotel. "Instead the president dithered, and he watched, and he waited, and he temporized."
"In the course of his ruminations, he said Kadafi has got to go — and then he still didn't do anything about it — thus exposing the United States to an enormous credibility problem with our friends and allies, as well as our adversaries."
In recent days, the United States and its allies at the United Nations have ratcheted up pressure on Kadafi to leave power. The U.N. Security Council agreed Thursday to use "all necessary measures" to protect the Libyan people, clearing the way for military strikes on Libyan aircraft and ground forces. The vote was 10 to 0 with five abstentions from Germany, China, Russia, India and Brazil.
"This is the great diplomatic successor to the Bush administration? Are you kidding me?" Bolton scoffed to laughter Friday night. In addition to his tenure as U.N. ambassador during George W. Bush's second term, Bolton also served as undersecretary of state for arms control and international security in Bush's first term,
In a broad-ranging and well-received critique of Obama's foreign policy, Bolton said Obama was "still not qualified to be president" two years into his term. He suggested that the president had underestimated the threats in North Korea and Iran and "doesn't see the rest of the world as terribly threatening to American interests," while placing his faith in international institutions to provide security for the United States.
"He is our first post-American president," Bolton said, adding that he didn't mean "un-American" or "anti-American." "He's kind of beyond all that patriotism stuff. He's got a much broader view of what our policy should be."
"We don't need a president who looks out for the interests of the rest of the world over ours," he said later in his speech, to applause. "We need a president who is proud of America, who will defend American interests."
And in case you're wondering, yeah, I hope Bolton's running, if only to keep the others serious and honest. He'll gladly throw his support behind Palin when the time comes - Hey:

Sigh. Will someone PLEASE tell us something we don't already know:ABC News gives us a refresher course on the weird, weird world of Moammar Gaddafi this morning as fighting in Libya continues. The liberation of the eastern part of the country allowed access to one of Gaddafi’s presidential palaces, and Libyans might find the dictator’s reading choices illuminating. Like more than one brutal dictator, Gaddafi seemed obsessed with the occult, with books on witchcraft lining the shelves. But the public oddities already known hinted at this already,...What's next? News the Left has always been into the occult as well? Oh, we'll be so surprised. And here's an exit question for you:
If "like more than one brutal dictator," Gaddafi's fascination with witches and the occult makes him "weird," what does that say about today's Left and the Democratic Party's multi-decade use of it?
