The Republicans Never Needed Racial Healing From Me

They don't know who Trump is, right? Riiiiiiight

I was a conservative Republican once, but dramatically stopped voting with them once they made it obvious they were more concerned with their ideological dominance - over me - than keeping their own racial promises. And now look at 'em: Stuck between the same "rock and a hard place" where I left 'em.

Oh well - that's what my pipe is for,...

The GOP Helped Obama Kill Two Birds With One Stone

Has anyone else noticed the Republicans didn't openly start calling blacks stupid, and saying the Mexicans are going to be taking all of our jobs, until AFTER the GOP lost the coveted hispanic vote to Obama?

So, wouldn't that also mean the Republicans already KNEW the effects of what they were doing previously, but they just weren't going to tell blacks, who they were also determined (at the time) to win over?

They're pathetic - and liars:

Politically speaking, they simply can't hit a rock with the side of a barn,...

What In The World Is Wrong With Matt Drudge's Mind?

The fedora might be a cover for the obvious

TMR's having a hard time imaging what Matt Drudge expects us to feel when he links something, like this, in red:

Is it outrage? And, if so, at what? Children being treated decently after a harrowing journey to freedom? Are we supposed to revolt, and demand those kids be warehoused in storage containers, instead?

The man makes no sense - except to the crazies,…

Don't Read King, Don't Listen To King, Don't Study King

More than one line about character and your mind is blown

Pretty soon, what those MLK statues represent is going to become an issue, and - after a quick re-reading of his work - TMR doubts America's whites will have an answer as to why they even built them:

The past is never really past

And just in time for the new arrivals,...

The Daily Show Returns 2 The Daily Same Old Same Old

It's kinda hard to see how today's conservatives can't admit their current similarity to these folks from America's ugly past:

Then and now - angrily screaming at the other:

It's a (white) American tradition,...

Illegal Immigrants Ain't A Black Issue After Reparations

How many blacks, today, are "casualties" of white's centuries-long obsession with killing us?

The photo, above, is from a KKK lynching in 1981. Two decades after I was born, though, still about 50 years after white folks started getting sick of themselves. (What white folks, today, call "ancient history" or "didn't happen" or  - when they want to be specific in their denial - "didn't happen to you.") Strangely, it reminded me The Drudge Report has a link to this load of crap in The National Review today:

When your countrymen have a history of not caring about you, it's awful hard to care.

The National Review. The same determined members of "the party that freed the slaves," so concerned for our welfare, they now stand against reparations for blacks - which would make their illegal immigration argument mute - while reminding us what a terrible situation they, themselves, are leaving us in. Because DEMOCRATS.

If racism's insanity, a racist country can't be anything but,….

McCain Makes Being A Republican Sound Legit Again

Like any good GOP supporter, he did it by sticking it in the Mississippi Tea Party's racist eye:

Yeah, they blew that, just like they blew immigration. Kinda boxed themselves in there, culturally.

It'll be interesting to see what the conservative's next "colorblind" scheme will be,….

They Do Not See Race They Do Not See Race They,...

By way of Hot Air, Ol' Mickey Kaus let the veil slip, but  - to bring it home - caught The Euphemism Train To Blacksville:

Tea Party suppression? And Latinos, specifically, are seen as an escape hatch - from who or what? What "other areas" might Right-Wing relief from "too much rethinking" be required?

How about reaffirmations of the importance of responsibilities - I mean, citizens - until they recognize,…

Conservative Republicans Still Winning The People Over

These numbskulls have completely forgotten how and why politicians win votes - and it's beautiful.

I'm sticking my neck out and predicting a break-down on the Right soon:

This combination - of unchecked arrogance, racism, and hard-headedness - can't go on,...

It's Hard To Clean House When Whites Live In A Vacuum

The asshole with the megaphone is a white supremacist and Neo-Nazi who has recently been elected to represent the Republican Party as a committeeman in Luzerne County, PA.

But - conservatives insist - the party doesn't have a problem,…

Black Is White / White Is Black: What Was I's Thinking?

That everything could be turned upside-down.
Did you ever play "Red Light/Green Light" when you were a kid?
Oh man, that was fun - Red Light!

If we care to recall it, there is a direct and historical relationship between the ideological commitment to small government and the belief that the government’s priorities are skewed toward racial minorities. Federal intervention in the Little Rock desegregation crisis and Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society initiatives hardened the conviction among some whites that government worked predominantly on behalf of minority communities. L.B.J. had envisioned the Great Society as an updated New Deal, but F.D.R. knew well that his reforms didn’t stand a chance unless Southern legislators believed their benefits went largely to white workers.

It’s also worth remembering that the Dixiecrats had few illusions that Strom Thurmond, their Presidential nominee, could win the election. But they did believe that by denying either party a majority in the South they could magnify their influence in national affairs and, in a best-case scenario, throw the Presidential election to the House of Representatives. In short, they hoped to leverage their influence as spoilers and obstructionists in national affairs,...
