And Proud Of It!

Oh, man - Liberals - they're so great! They're so cool! They're so open-minded, and they only oppose conservatives because we're so wrong! O.K., fine, but how do you explain them opposing one of their own?
My first taste of ‘lockstep liberalism’ came when I was kicked off DailyKos for saying it seemed to me that John Edwards might have had an affair. I didn’t act like it was the worst thing in the world or the height of immorality; I just thought it seemed suspicious when the National Enquirer reporters caught him at the Beverly Hilton. For the sin of discussing my suspicions. I was banned from DKos and I still am, after being viciously hammered for days. And when Edwards admitted to the affair – I was still banned.
And banned you will be, my good man. That's how it works when you go against Liberal orthodoxy, the Liberal narrative, the Liberal lie they're trying to promote across the land. Because, Oh, man - Liberals - they're so great! They're so cool! They're so open-minded, and they only oppose conservatives because we're so wrong!

That's just how they roll,...

Busted: John Edwards, Rielle Hunter, And Bob McGovern (NewAge Reveals All, Truth Seekers)

We predicted it, and - after a new piece by The National Enquirer's David Perel - we're pretty sure we were right:

John Edwards was exposed by Lisa Druck/Rielle Hunter's "astrologer" and confidant (who also "works with energy in the area of emotional fields") the "intuitive" Bob McGovern.

Here's Perel:
When John Edwards showed up at the Beverly Hilton hotel to meet with Rielle on the evening of July 21, 2008, a large team of reporters and photographers were on the grounds for the Enquirer, and he was photographed secretly as he confidently walked into a side door at 9:45 p.m.

The Enquirer knew what room Hunter was in, as well as the room where her male traveling companion was staying. When Edwards came down to the lobby at 2:40 am the Enquirer was waiting for him, famously chasing as he ran into a public bathroom.

Behind the scenes we exerted pressure on Edwards, sending word though mutual contacts that we had photographed him throughout the night. We provided a few details about his movements to prove this was no bluff.

For 18 days we played this game, and as the standoff continued the Enquirer published a photograph of Edwards with the baby inside a room at the Beverly Hilton hotel.

Journalists asked if we had a hidden camera in the room. We never said yes or no. (We still haven't). We sent word to Edwards privately that there were more photos.

He cracked.
First, the Enquirer "knew what room Hunter was in, as well as the room where her male traveling companion was staying." Who else would know that but "her male traveling companion" - who was Bob McGovern?

Second, Bob McGovern is an astrologer. Has anyone ever heard of an astrologer, mixed up in anything, who didn't immediately try to capitalize on their fame? Hunter's friend, Pigeon O'Brian, was on television as often as she could be, but good Ol' Bob was nowhere to be seen.

Third, McGovern is a NewAger. These people, because of their unstable belief system, have no solid morals to lean on. Consider this loopdy-loop:

Bob McGovern was deceiving/exploiting Lisa Druck/Rielle Hunter, who was deceiving/exploiting John Edwards, as they all were deceiving his wife, the cancer-stricken Elizabeth Edwards - and the press was deceiving everyone else.

Even Louise Hay, the so-called "Queen of NewAge" let it be known that Sylvia Browne - her best-selling author - was a fraud, but somehow, utilizing those values, we're supposed to believe Bob McGovern wouldn't sell out Lisa Druck/Rielle Hunter (AKA “Riddleydoo Spacepod Rainbow.”) for a payoff from the Enquirer? Puh-Leaze. As our friends at Death By 1000 Papercuts said at the time, "it’s likely that the Enquirer pays better than his regular day job in the mystic realm."

Forth, there was no one else who could've been in the room with Rielle Hunter and John Edwards, when the photo of Edwards and the baby was taken, but Bob McGovern.

And last but not least, since Bob McGovern was in the room when that photo was taken, Rielle Hunter had to know what was going on - either during Edwards' visit to see the baby or once the photo was publicized - making her an accomplice in a doublecross. Again:

Another NewAge liar engaged in betrayal - probably to end Edwards' marriage, so Hunter could live out her dream of becoming Mrs. John Edwards, or (since "Being" Isn't "Free") to get a settlement for child support.

So there you have it - Bob McGovern, the man who took out John Edwards, as both were sliding around on snake-oil.

And the destruction of everything NewAge touches continues,...

Or Is It The "Hunter S. Thompson Syndrome"?

Jesus, these people are stupid.

Here are three important folks - a journalist/media personality, a former prosecutor/media personality, and a Pulitzer Prize winner/media personality - and, though they can each summon a fog of words, not one of them is capable of seeing the obvious and stating it as a jumping off point for an interesting and honest discussion. For instance, not once in this conversation probing media bias, during this clip at least, do they give context by mentioning the John Edwards blackout. Was anyone even considering how bad the media bias was until the public noticed not one outlet, but The National Enquirer, was reporting Obama's potential vice-presidential nominee/attorney general had fallen for a moonbeam?

And while Dan Abrams admits the media fell in love with Barack Obama, and that love (betrayal?) hurt Hillary Clinton - which, in our book, is also a major no-no: they're just supposed to report the news, not make or determine it - Abrams fails to mention their actions also hurt the media, because it further signaled the public couldn't rely on what they were saying. And, yes, Kathleen Parker is just oblivious to her own role in the Sarah Palin story - so who's the airhead now?

And has anybody ever explained why "all of them" isn't a good enough answer to the question "What magazines have you read?" If so, we haven't seen it. Has anyone ever explained what it is about Katie Couric that makes other media types consider her intelligent - though that's an opinion the general public doesn't seem to share?

It's no wonder we find the internet more informative, and fascinating, than anything these bozos can conjure up, because engaging with these people - with nothing more than a television screen between us - is too much of a temptation for us to want to pull an Elvis and just blast the damned thing to smithereens.

The John Edwards Blackout - From JournoList?

As The Daily Caller continues releasing the JournoList e-mails, I'm waiting to see when they'll look into what was happening during one specific period:

The John Edwards affair with Rielle Hunter, during the last presidential election, when Edwards was considered vice presidential material.

As I remember it, that was a year-long news blackout, that left The National Enquirer, alone, to break the story.

Was it coordinated, as the attacks on Sarah Palin were?

If it was, then we've got some serious implications for journalism, and the country.

There are many who are sure the country was snookered during the last election, and I, having returned from living overseas, was also amazed at the way politics was playing out - without the journalistic watchdog I was used to before I left.

I couldn't understand it.

But now we know what was going on - this was collusion - collusion against the American people by the same journalists we trusted to keep us informed.

So come on, Daily Caller, if you've got the dirt, let's have it now:

The American people need to know the whole truth about what the liberal wing of the Fourth Estate was serving us.

This NewAge Is Truly A World Of Wonder

"Finally, half-way through the book come 'the good parts.'

Young starts to notice the Senator flirting with waitresses, but thinks nothing of it.

He is a little quizzical, though, when a woman who picks up Edwards at the Regency is given a $100,000 contract to do video work.

This would be Rielle Hunter, née Lisa Druck.

Young decides she looks practiced at 'identifying rich men, married or not, and connecting with them—at least temporarily.'

Young writes that, when arriving in New York in her early twenties, she briefly dated Jay McInerney and wound up in Story of My Life as 'the repulsive character Alison Poole.'

Oh, and her father participated in a horse-killing insurance scam.

Young then goes on to paint her as a forty-one year-old round-heeled fruitcake who 'when she first saw John Edwards she noticed "an aura" of energy floating over him. When she made eye contact with the senator, she knew their destinies were intertwined, and that she had been sent to Earth to serve him.'

And of course everyone knows the rest.

Boy runs for president, meets trollop, knocks her up, can’t afford the scandal, arranges a financial cushion (see FBI agents, IRS agents, and the officers of the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina) and all hell breaks loose.

Or rather, the
National Enquirer is on to him. (It has just been nominated for a Pulitzer for its coverage of this nationally repercussive sordidness.)

Of course Young, the good shnook, is recruited to be the admitted father of Rielle’s baby bump.

And did I mention that Rielle and Edwards agreed on an 'open' relationship?

With time, Edwards started to complain that Rielle was crazy, just as he had complained about his wife.

By now Young had become the beard in order to keep Rielle around.

It was decided that Elizabeth’s recurrence of cancer would be useful to the campaign. Ick.

When Rielle reveals she is with child, Edwards elevates her title to 'crazy slut.'

As some mistresses are wont to do, Rielle became jealous of the real wife.

She was infuriated when there was a lot of publicity about the Edwardses renewing their vows on their thirtieth anniversary and then celebrating at Wendy’s. (Wendy’s?!)

The running and hiding and supporting Rielle and the Youngs on the run was financed by (metaphorically) poor, trusting, Democratic, aged Bunny Mellon—to the tune of six million dollars.

Another rich supporter, a Texan lawyer named Fred Baron (since deceased), also paid for the care and upkeep of Rielle, then the baby—but he, at least, knew where the money was going.

The lesson, if that is the word, of this sad and tawdry book is that Young was being played by John Edwards, and that a stiff whaddya-call-it has no conscience and no brains, either.

When I read Young’s account of Edwards saying, essentially, that if the truth did come out, it would be a one day story because 'everyone knows' that politicians fool around, I felt that Edwards and Hunter deserved each other.

Oh yes, and it’s possible that Rielle herself tipped off the
Enquirer."
-- Margo Howard, reminding TMR of all the hurtful nonsense NewAge stupidity sets in motion - her review of Andrew Young's book is called "The Losers" - when no one's trying to get Rielle, but working towards The New Republic.
