The Discriminating Shopper (Is The Smart One)

"The cleverest salesmen can spin a knock-off into a great bargain.  Some can even convince you it's a superior product.  Beware of slick pitches, such as:  'Our connection transcends labels!'; 'Why define what we are?  Let's just have a good time!'; 'Labels are meaningless!'  These salesmen are so fast, you rarely notice you've been sold the pitch and not the product.  Remember, if you don't know what you're getting even after you've bought it, you've probably been sold a product that doesn't exist.  It's for this very reason I stear clear of the homeopathy aisle in drug stores."

-- Samantha Church, handing out some pretty good relationship advice (and cultishly quasy-spiritual medical advice as well) to young people, in The San Francisco Examiner.
