The sight of a president who draws a red line on chemical attack and then says “I didn’t set a red line” (the world did); who has Kerry plead a powerful case for military action only to stall; who defers to Congress but seems happy enough with Congress ambling back into session more than a week later; who notes that for “nearly seven decades the United States has been the anchor of global security,” and then declares “America is not the world’s policeman” — the sight of all this has marked a moment when America signaled an inward turn that leaves the world anchorless…
In Berlin, which survived as a free city because of a U.S. red line, the change has been noted. It has also been noted in Tehran, Moscow, Beijing and Jerusalem.

Bush's integrity. 'All the evidence points to the conclusion,' Kennedy said, that the Bush administration 'put a spin on the intelligence and a spin on the truth.' Later that day Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle told reporters Mr. Bush needed 'to be forthcoming' about the absence of weapons of mass destruction (WMD).
Thus began a shameful episode in our political life whose poisonous fruits are still with us.
The next morning, Democratic presidential candidates John Kerry and John Edwards joined in. Sen. Kerry said, 'It is time for a president who will face the truth and tell the truth.' Mr. Edwards chimed in, 'The administration has a problem with the truth.'
The battering would continue, and it was a monument to hypocrisy and cynicism. All these Democrats had said, like Mr. Bush did, that Saddam Hussein possessed WMD. Of the 110 House and Senate Democrats who voted in October 2002 to authorize the use of force against his regime, 67 said in congressional debate that Saddam had these weapons. This didn't keep Democrats from later alleging something they knew was false—that the president had lied America into war."
Ha-ha, yea - oops - sorry: that's probably too much truth for a seeker's delicate sensibilities. I'll try to keep it as subtle as humanly possible from here on out.
Maybe, as a seeker and (of course it follows) a lover of France, this truth will appeal to you more? I don't know. You're going to have to tell me exactly what kind of truth you're into. 
I mean, unlike others, I've never been a seeker in my life.

2000: Democrats praise Al Gore for his Vietnam service.
2000: Democrats denounce George W. Bush for his National Guard service.
2004: Democrats praise John Kerry for his Vietnam service.
2008: Democrats denounce John McCain for his Vietnam service (He's "too militaristic").
So - as a former Democrat who served - I'd like to know: 
"I’m not,...following the election that closely,...Is being a war hero important this time around? It’s hard to keep track. It was the last time, I’m sure about that, and [John Kerry] certainly made a big deal about the medals that he threw away…or didn’t. To make matters more confusing, at one time being a draft dodger was de rigueur and then a few years later flying a jet fighter in the Air National Guard wasn’t. All I know is that of the three candidates left in the race, all of them were surrounded by communists when they were young but only one of them fought back."
