Nobody Wears Pajamas With Feet Anymore,...

"Agus would give sermons in his underpants and tell disciples that he was God."

-- Lynn Lee, documenting the arrest of another sex-obsessed cult leader - yes: another one!!! - showing a strange behavior pattern that seems to be catching-on world-wide, as a way to attract the same kinds of stupidly like-minded followers, in (what for this story is) the oddly-named Straits Times.

Blame Your Fellow Readers: We Sure Didn't Do It

Just a note - to say TMR is now on this fucking Twitter thing-y - because notes are all it allows.

Go figure.

First Was Valkyrie And Now This - We Don't Like This "Spiritual" Stuff: Damn You, Ratzinger!!!

"The pope has made a serious mistake. That he is a German pope makes the matter especially bad. Pope Benedict XVI is inflicting great damage on Germany,...The pope must correct his mistake, reverse his decision and excuse himself."

-- Bild Magazine, on the rehabilitation of a Catholic bishop loopy enough to deny the Holocaust, according to Reuters.

"The Divorce Was Not Unexpected" Would Have To Qualify As The Understatement Of The Year

"A lesbian couple who led the fight for gay marriage in Massachusetts has filed for divorce. Julie and Hillary Goodridge were among seven gay couples who filed a lawsuit that led to a court ruling making Massachusetts the first state to legalize same-sex marriages in 2004. The couple became the public face of the debate in the state and married the first day same-sex marriages became legal.

The divorce case was filed last week in Suffolk Probate and Family Court and was not unexpected."

Homeopaths: (Always) Doing The Best They Can With What (Very, Very) Little They Have (Upstairs) And, Damn It, You Can't Stop Them

"I cannot wait for the day when people,...will realize they are talking about other human beings who have very real feelings and are doing the best they can with what they have to work with."

-- John Sherman, a Canadian "homeopath" (AKA a Canadian water salesman) lamenting how people behave once they understand what he's up to, for BC Online.

I'm Going To "Get Out There And Kill As Many People As Possible" Doesn't Have The Same Ring

"Amid controversy, well known British Homeopath, Jeremy Sherr, complete with wife and children, has recently left the Malvern Hills in the West of England, for Moshi in Tanzania, to, in his words, 'get out there and cure as many people as possible'. Sherr, with colleagues in several countries, spent 10 years attempting to raise funds for a Homeopathy and AIDS research project. While there is a lot of funding available for AIDS research, they found that the moment Homeopathy was mentioned, doors were slammed shut.

After much frustration with bureaucracy and hard work only to be followed by disappointments, Sherr decided to head off to Africa and start treating AIDS sufferers in the hope of collecting enough evidence to convince the skeptics and raise the profile of Homeopathy as a viable and affordable treatment for AIDS. He is under no illusions as to the enormity of that task however, and recent responses from Homeopathy's detractors are not for the feint hearted.

Over the last year skeptics in the medical and scientific establishment have become increasing vociferous. Homeopathy was once considered innocuous by most non-believers and Homeopaths on the whole were left alone. Now, what Sherr calls 'The Pharmaceutical Inquisition' has been growing in intensity, and Sherr's 'journalfromafrica' blog has not escaped attention. Severe criticisms of his attitude to anti-retroviral drugs, his approach to clinical trials and even his suggestion that Homeopathy can be of any use at all, have resulted in him removing several entries from the blog, including those describing the aims of, and background to, the project and descriptions of some of the first AIDS cases treated."

-- Robin Logan, wishing that a cultish belief in quackery will make it work on the poor (and desperate, of course) which isn't a surprise coming from another self-proclaimed "citizen journalist" of the totally cwazy, and intellectually lazy, NewAge Natural News.

Life For An Atheist: Everyone Gets To Piss On Your Parade (And Give Themselves A Pass)

"The universe is wonderful enough on its own. Space, stars, planets, black holes, galaxies, suns. The fact that out of all the elemental soup, people like us have evolved to walk and talk and create art, music, white wine, patent leather stacked mary jane shoes, Cocoa Puffs cereal, truck nutz, chocolate chip cookies, surf boards, and the Neiman Marcus cosmetics department is AMAZING. All by itself. Saying, 'god did it' is heartbreaking. It pisses on the sheer wonderousness of it all, you know? I don’t need more.

The universe doesn’t need to be imbued with the mystical to make it 'more' special. It’s like salting a pot of soup in someone else’s kitchen without permission.  It’s awfully presumptuous, and, well, more than a little rude."

Gotta Keep An "Open Mind" To Understand Those "Young People", Because They Are What's All-Important, Yes Indeed, Don't Y'know, Daddy-O?

Even if some of those "young people" were adults singing love songs to your teenage daughters,...Are we missing something?

Naked Barack Obama Unicorn Porn (I Feel Ya)

"You've got Obama naked, face down and out of it. The unicorn is rubbing lotion on his back and sort of leering at him like he wants to perform an act that would surely be illegal in all 50 -- or if you're Barack Obama -- all 57 states, if unicorns were real. It's like the start of a porn film co-directed by Liberace and Gary Gygaxx."

-- John Hawkins, showing us how "out there" the electorate is right now, which really is Right Wing News.

We at TMR want to see what that horn's used for. And does this mean it's cool now to publicly idolize black men in this way? Like Barack Obama is a married, straight black male, and here's this homoerotic fantasy painting of him right before being poked in the ass - isn't that more than a little gay? But then, isn't Barack Obama more than a little gay? Hmmm. Michelle better watch out:

Having one horse-faced lover in a marriage is enough.

"Never Trust A Politician," They Said. Really. It Was Just Muffled By His Dick In Their Mouths!!!

"This is a big problem for Obama, especially because it was such a major, major promise. He harped on it, time after time, and he created a sense of expectation around the country. This is exactly why people are skeptical of politicians, because change we can believe in is not the same thing as business as usual."

-- Melanie Sloan, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, who - like everyone else who voted for the "Lightworker" - can't seem to stand the dark (or handle the truth) even in The International Herald Tribune.

Our Uncle Irwin writes in with this:

Imagine the AP writing such a sympathetic story about Bush:

"I think the Obama folks' intentions were great here," said Ethics watchdog Melanie Sloan. "But sometimes you realize you can't actually govern on just what you campaigned on."

Even Republicans are quoted expressing "realistic" views of the way government works.

Cultism: It's Not Safe At The Movies Anymore

A friend took us to see the cult movie "Quantum of Solace" yesterday at a $1.25 cinema. He actually was more interested in showing us a $1.25 movie theatre than the $1.25 movie, but to see one we had to endure the other, so this is what Hollywood's cultists gave us for our buck twenty five:

An opening chase scene that, of course, was completely incoherent.

A plot that, of course, was completely incoherent as well - even though a good story well told is why normal people go to the movies in the first place.

A lecture on the supposed state of the environment that, of course, was clear-as-a-bell.

An unchallenged and flat-out lie that, of course, "the world is running out of oil."

A white American who's weird, and sadistic, paired with a black American who's torn because, of course, he cares so-damn-much and his higher sense of moral values are so much more attuned to the reality of international affairs - even though most blacks I know can't find their beloved Africa unless it's on a t-shirt.

Suffering Bolivian peasants with, of course, absolutely no say in what happens in their lives.

Another incoherent fight scene, this time between a 110 lb. woman and a sadistic military man three times her size, where she not only wins but, of course, does so as a result of kicking him in the balls. (Damn: a trained killer, and rapist, fell for that one again! Amazing!)

Plus, right after we see that Bond (in another totally incoherent fight scene) can single-handedly destroy four very macho and well-trained security agents - while they've got him under watch and trapped in an elevator - once he's in the open, of course, he finds it almost impossible to dispatch one lone European metrosexual.

And let's not forget this was another one of those lousy Hollywood "entertainments" that, of course, was hailed as a breakthrough 007 movie, in every way, as well as a true must-see event.

Our conclusion:

This was a stupid cult movie that wasn't even worth 125 pennies - and, of course, we probably wouldn't have been half as disgusted with it if that's exactly what we could have paid with. Well, that and a bucket of spit.

You cultists (both in Hollywood and in the viewing audience) should be ashamed of what you're doing to Art. The filmmakers for producing such crap and the viewers for believing it's coming out this way by accident. You're all a bunch of lamers as far as TMR's concerned.

Everybody's Talking (But Nobody's Admitting It)

TMR just picked up a copy of the new U.S. News and World Report special edition, "Mysteries of History: Secret Societies," and is glad to report all the winners covered on this blog are in there: NewAgers, Buddhists, Meditators, healers, The Peoples Temple, Heaven's Gate, and many, many more - including mentions of the dreaded "personality cult" - without mentioning Barack Obama's, of course, because (nothing strange here:) he's the POTUS.

Everyone should pick this up, to get a superficial overview of the problem, and see how prevalent this phenomena is. It might help some of you out of your denial about what's right in front of your eyes ("One approach was to set up,...discussion groups which were not,...designated as related to [cultism] but for,...world peace and ecology." [Underline TMR's.] Wow - aren't all cultists lecturing on that?) You might even discover you're in a cult and not know it, which, as we've been telling you, is a very-real possibility.

Anyway, TMR is glad no one can claim it's just us talking about cultism in the West anymore. But our critics, of course, will continue claiming it's just us. Keep one thing in mind, though, smarty pants:

Nobody says that but cultists.
