A Republican Apologizes After Saying Something Stupid


This is one of the nicest developments in Republican politics, and Arizona politics (!) that I've seen, in a long, long time:


 Jim Brown, an Arizona Republican congressional candidate, said some of the usual crazy stuff Republicans say about entitlements and slavery on Wednesday but - unlike most Republicans - when called on it, he immediately apologized.  And it was even a good apology.

Did you see he got two "likes" for that garbage? One of them is probably from Paul Ryan. Here's Brown's apology:


Well done. I don't agree with every word of it, of course, but that's neither here nor there - I still say good for him:

Other Republicans can learn a lot from that man,...
