Rand Paul: A Portrait Of Over-Weening White Arrogance

 If his father has writings in white supremacist newsletters, and he's known for openly advocating for discrimination, is it too soon to tell Dr. Rand Paul, "Physician, Heal Thyself"?

"Rand Paul, millennial hero,…likes to talk about getting people of color to vote for him, despite supporting voter suppression and the right of businesses to engage in race-based discrimination. Oh, and he’s comfortable telling the first black president, the one who 'surrounds himself with Martin Luther King memorabilia in [the] Oval Office,' how he’s failing to live up to King’s legacy." 

Now, Mr. President, let me tell YOU about discrimination,...

Ha! Yeah, Rand Paul - telling blacks we don't know the history he gets wrong - is a classic. It's right up there with Paul telling disabled people they can't have access to second floor office spaces, if the owner of a business has decided to make a place for them on the first. That's another oldie-but-goodie, proposed by someone with no clue of when blacks once had to be served from the back of businesses - and the disabled just didn't get served. Actually, when it comes to the American struggle for Civil Rights, that last one's not even that old:

It's been forever.

So whatever - however old, whatever discrimination we're looking at, is - it damned sure ain't ever been good.

But, then, neither is Rand Paul for that matter.
