I've always doubted climate change, don't think I've seen the evidence, and still wonder if it's true. BUT - if Neil deGrasse Tyson says it's so - then, damn it, I'll go along because A) the man is black and he speaks plain, and B) he's got credibility like that, so I won't challenge him.
He's made millions, spouting sciencey-sounding malarky, and all because they'd eat it up:

I remember almost being thrown out of someone's house, for trying to calm a woman as she screamed about the polar bears - a result of misinformation, few consider, as the claim it's all so harmless revolves. It's not. These fools think they're just talking but, in ways large and small, society stops working. Lives are put in peril.

Scientists, publicly coming to terms with their biases, are not a pretty picture. Is it just me, or does anyone else despise how long they've made us wait, for what we knew - and told them - already?
I've always wanted to scream "Out with it, Man!" like an English General or something. Which should've been done years ago. And would have, if we had leaders, and not just cheerleaders and gullible hanger's-on.
So - is anybody going to arrest Al Gore yet, or do I have to wait another decade for that as well?

I tore myself away today. Got out of the house, took a long walk on purpose.
Looking at the newspapers, there's still not much going on, so the media's still playing charades, hoping someone will make a guess that, somehow, will finally make-something-happen where they didn't notice anything before.
Drudge, like everybody else, is making shit up, changing his focus daily, fishing for something - anything - that'll have legs.
How - even in this world of miracle cures, cults and quacks - nobody's got anything, nobody sees anything, and nobody's gonna do anything, so they'll make shit up in the meantime, because you know it's coming,...global warming.
I learned that last line in the foster homes, heard usually as a greeting.
Not to be technical or anything, but that's really how it works, honest.
Instead, raid the library's documentary section and catch 51 Birch Street, a fine little (somewhat disturbing) film about marriage and family, that had a lot of parallels to my own story, settling something within me.
I'm never quite sure if true acceptance of what's happened is possible for me anymore, so that's quite the feat.
