Check it out, 'Bekah's back:

Now where have we heard that before? Oh yeah:

Everybody knows you've been discreet
But there were so many people you just had to meet
Without your clothes

Things To Like About White Folks: Jokes Without Jokes

This cracked me up - Ann has a link to The Tax Prof and this question:

Here's what's so funny:

While all agree "it is incredibly damaging" and "maybe we are at a 9.5", what exactly is "it" that's brought us so low - and even got Ann, and other identified-as-right-of-center professors, spreading the question?

If you ask me, ignorance - along with a healthy dose of manipulation and exploitation - are the crimes, here.

This reminds me of living in France, when my white "friends" warned me not to talk to blacks. When I asked why not, they'd say, "I don't know."

White people are fucking hilarious,…

Like, If You're The Kind Of Person To Look For Meaning In Crystals, It Will Always Mean You're A Blithering Idiot

You know, looking at everything going on in Obama's America right now - including (Transgender) Bradley Manning, (Communist) Edward Snowden, and (alleged rapist) Julien Assange - I'm almost of the mind to think there's some well-worn path being haphazardly followed:
They ran the largest illegal wiretapping operation ever uncovered. And their immigration fraud to harbor foreigners remains unrivaled in scope. The revelations brought criminal charges, defections, global manhunts and prison time.

It's just a thought. Don't try to read anything deeper into it (I've already said I think the NSA "scandal" is, so far, a joke) I'm just saying, the NewAge is the NewAge, and the now-familiar parameters of it's (weirdo) players, their (subversive) concerns, and the (expected) results, are just like their ("alternative") medical treatments:

They never change,...

(Cult) Context

On the micro level, it looks like Scientology killed someone else.

On the macro level, it looks like Mickey Kaus noticed something about the president:
"Obama isn’t vague or incoherent. He’s quite precise about where he wants to go–namely back to something like what we had three decades ago. If his means don’t come close to matching his ends, if they even subvert them, that seems a more troubling, almost pathological mismatch, in which liberalism becomes a sort of cargo cult whose mechanisms have zero hope of achieving the desired results."
And here in the middle, everybody shrugs because they're listening to smart people,...

Passing Thoughts (2U) Without Ever Moving My Mouth

Alright, let's open our minds a little bit, enough to accept tech workers getting weird "on the path":
“It’s going to be a place on Earth that becomes a sacred space for growth and development. The people who need love will end up here. We want the world to be a part of this. It’s not a secret journey, but you still have to go on that journey to get here.”

If you need a refresher before you take off, here's more on how we got here from wherever there was:
“In the United States, similar elite lobbying efforts to institutionalise nonsense were firmly launched in 1991 (a couple of years before the Prince formed the Foundation for Integrated Health) when the Senate Appropriations Committee -- which is responsible for funding the National Institutes of Health (NIH) -- set in motion a chain of events that led to the formation of the Office of Alternative Medicine. The 'prime mover' behind this momentous turn of events was Appropriations Committee chair, Tom Harkin, a Democrat from Iowa, who 'had been urged to take this legislative step by two constituents, Berkley Bedell and Frank Wiewel.' All three men having personally witnessed the alleged curative power of alternative medicine, and were therefore keen to use their political clout to advance their wacky personal beliefs.
So it was that a Congressional mandate forced mysticism upon the very heart of the medical establishment, with initial members of the Office of Alternative Medicine's advisory panel including best-selling New Age authors Deepak Chopra and Bernie Siegel, not to mention Bedell and Wiewel. Unfortunately the Office of Alternative Medicine has gone from strength-to-strength, and in 1999 was re-established as a full NIH center known as the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM). This is not, however, to say that they have done anything useful (yet), other than prove that the utility of alternative therapies have no material basis. On this matter a recent study actually demonstrated that after distributing some $2 billion of funding the Center had made 'no discoveries in alternative medicine that would justify the current annual expenditure of $134 million' to maintain its existence.”

Speaking of things we can get rid of, I don't see how Peggy Noonan's winning anything (except in the Charlie Sheen sense) but everything else seems accurate:
"What’s strange about the column is that Noonan somehow takes the evident toll of the allegations against the IRS as proof that the Obama administration has gotten away with something: that this was a real and damaging scandal that is being dismissed by the media as overhyped. But what she is describing is in fact proof of the exact opposite: the allegations have taken a great toll on the agency (and, polls suggest, on Obama himself) precisely because they were overhyped and not dismissed by the media. In other words, Peggy Noonan won. She just doesn’t seem able or willing to admit it.
The fact is, the more we learn about the scandal, the more egregiously and irresponsibly overwrought the initial coverage of it appears."

Fuck Peggy. I've got my own problems. One of 'em is everybody needs to grow up. Here's but one of the topics I'm struggling with - and, I think, the fact I so rarely see it addressed can have multiple meanings, good and bad:
"Where is the diversity of popular voices in Rap that give voice to being/acting like an adult? Perhaps I’m asking for too much. Maybe Rap is supposed to stay young—it’s a youth movement. Maybe I’m supposed to outgrow Rap as an art form while maintaining my love for Hip-Hop culture. I refuse to believe that’s true, though. But is Rap ready for the “' take care of my family and it’s difficult at times/I’m trying to pay my bills while simultaneously writing these rhymes'” record?"

I just don't know. Consider the man I mentioned in one of my songs, appearing (for the umpteenth time) to validate every word I said:
“Hip hop star DMX was arrested for driving under the influence in South Carolina this past week. Despite attempts by the rapper's publicist to deny reports of his arrest, it has been confirmed that X reportedly failed a sobriety test after being stopped by state troopers on July 25th.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol told HipHipWired that DMX was arrested after being identified as a "possible DUI driver" in a 1978 Plymouth station wagon and was stopped for driving erratically. He failed a field sobriety test. He was also charged with not having a driver's license and not wearing a seat belt.
Footage also surfaced of the arrest.”

I can't wait. Just as I can't wait for a new book out with a very provocative title:
“My Life in a Love Cult: A Warning to All Young Girls, My True Life Story by Marion Dockerill, High Priestess of Oom, 1928.”

1928? Wow. She was obviously a member of the NEW NewAge,...

The Scandal Behind The Scandal Is There Is No Scandal

You know how self-created NewAge problems "work":

Somebody's going to come back touting a homeopathic preparation that'll fix everything,...

Death Takes A Holiday (But Only From Talking Openly)

Can you hear it again?

That quick, the chumps chimps have calmed down.

The knee-jerk screeching about the NSA and whatnot has just,...stopped.

Their brights are saying this non-scandal's a distraction from the other non-scandals.

Obviously, they're sorting themselves out - while still being brilliantly deluded.

I think the idiots stopped chattering because - after a week of their foolishness - The Collective Unconsciousness' stupidity's cut a back room deal to eventually dawn on them (does anybody know how much money our country, alone, wastes on unnecessary panics each year?)

So now, as if on cue, the monkeys are going back to their usual state, *arrogantly* doubting themselves  and chin-scratching, producing (what they think are) "deep" speculations on what their ingrained, and ever-growing "feelings" (of fear, paranoia, and persecution) mean - besides they're a bunch of faggots, of course.

NTTAWWT. We just,...can't,...go there.

Whatever happened to not being a victim, folks? I'm sure I've heard that, multiple times, somewhere before, from some PRIDE parade-joining imbecile or another. But there is absolutely no way to complain about this NSA shit without assuming the position of VICTIM - and yet, there they are, screaming to high heaven.

On Twitter

But not me - 'cause I'm not a NewAge loser.

I'm still on-point, complaining about THEM. Because I'm still not hip to their delusion:

I've been unfair to call them "unfair" for saying there's no victims as they created them?

Such manipulations, to the American lineage I'm coming from, are evil.

They'll admit they don't know the first thing about what the NSA is up to, but then hit the panic button and go to the mat 24/7, warning we'd better watch out. Meanwhile, you can document every instance of the NSA's accusers being dicks, using exclusionary tactics, and basically acting like whatever they hate, and - patriots that they are - they deny everything, evidence included. If they ever mention it at all.

And then - the best part - they expect their government to do differently. To not follow their example. To not become as big a liars as they are. To not end up wrecking this country, and then being as royally confused by that result, as they have.

If you ask me, they're attacking the NSA because they're afraid it's their Frankenstein.

That's what we're being distracted from.

Who's the real Obama? Ha! I told you, I've always known that:

The question for me has always been who are the rest of you?

I keep telling you, I'm glimpsing how NewAgers "work", in bits and pieces.

I figure, when they shut up for a while, that's when they're doing the same,...

Give Women Haircuts (And Refuse Them Sexual Favors)

Didn't I tell you Drudge has been fishing - for something to hype - for a little while now?

Looks like he got it.

Still doesn't make it news.

Isn't it fascinating how - even with all the *known* charlatans out there - they still decide to run with speculation? Assumptions. This "could" be true (could not) and this "may" have happened (may not) so much you stop listening because you may as well be getting your news from ghost hunters?

Day before yesterday, they were interviewing a vegan on NPR and he said the United States doesn't do anything well anymore, and I wondered how NPR can get a community service license when it actively chooses to broadcast such a twisted view of the world and our place in it?

Everybody's got their heads stuck so far up their own asses they can't see their way out.

I don't know if it's human nature, but I guess most people only seem to gain perspective in disaster, and then it's back to the bullshit. Remember 9/11? We're all Americans now? I think we're over it.

Major news stories? Come on. Do you really think this news gathering before us - right now - has somehow got you better informed than during the chaos of 9/11? Come on again:

They're "informing" you - about a "scandal" that isn't there - how "useful" is that?

As useful as becoming a NewAger because you didn't like religion.

Oy Vey.

 Shut the madhouse doors,...

The Corrections

Isn't that weird? While assorted conspiracy theorists have been trying to carve a bogus scandal out of the Middle East, a real one actually pops up at home, and (staying so wonderfully true to form various watchdogs ought to get a broach featuring a picture of Bernie Madoff) it once again emerges without a single whistleblower - inside government or out - seeing it coming.

Incredible - incredibly stupid - but still,...just incredible.

I ask you - as we're now treated to the continuing spectacle of America's leaders, happily throwing shit they found on the ground, as others avoid being buried under it - is this any way to run a nation?

Droppin' Science Like Galileo Dropped The Orange: Nod

"We run to scandal long before we land on stupidity."

I heard somebody say that, on one of the Sunday morning talk shows, and - despite the "Hey!" Hey! Hey!" nature of the Benghazi hype - I'm also here to tell you (while feeling like that kid saying "I see dead people") the political fallout over Benghazi always fell under the heading of somebody - I ain't naming no names - engaged in their almost regularly scheduled bout of hysterical "stupidity".

When you've dealt with U.F.Oh! Oh! Oh! nuts for as long as I have, you learn to identify conspiracy theorists pretty quickly, usually recognizing A) they weren't "all there" to begin with, and B) a new wild-eyed desire to set their hair on fire, again. Unfortunately, B usually reveals itself before A, so there's an undeterminable time lag Mark Twain referred to as truth - as it "gets it's boots on".

He, too, didn't take kindly to those messing with the fabric of reality.

But conspiracy theorists are only allowed to become dark-minded, and participate in evil, because - absent a social structure based in critical thought  - minus the courts, society simply lacks the much-needed tools to effectively unravel misunderstanding. A lot of mischief can be "innocently" accomplished in the grey area this circumstance creates, as America whooshes along, under a bureaucratic apparatus designed to move slowly (as a means of gaining wisdom) leaving it's citizenry at time's unforgivable mercy until something's resolved, or someone walks away bored, broke, or just plain broken.

So what was the point of school again? What still remains relevant from all that early education? Oh sure, P.E. - running in circles - so the Smiley Faced live long enough to hopefully one day grasp what the rest of us have got rubbed in our faces:

Running in circles, on a spinning planet, is not the same thing as coping with it.

Here's another vision of "stupid" America:

It's men and women, blacks and whites, gays and straights, all (kinda) getting along.

So sure, let's say it's also an image of us still,...haphazardly working out some issues,..but nobody's screaming about their rights being even so much as unassumed, or how truly insulted they are by hot button phrases they're not even listening to. I submit to you this is convincing evidence that - at least at your neighborhood Mickey D's - there's obviously enough spectrum-wide anonymous unconditional support floating around for everybody. That includes the black guy in the pink dress waiting outside.

They just gotta know how to sell it.

To the untrained eye, this vision of America probably looks even more chaotic than the waste (in time, energy, interest, and money) of the Benghazi fallout, except, as anyone can see, these Americans know in their bones everyone's on an equal footing, that nothing's hidden, and that completely contradicts the true conspiracy theory - delivered daily in the current news/activist/media slants - that the country can't  move forward as we should. It's they who are stuck on stupid.

The rest of us are practically George Jetson.

Witness, as Americans have historically done since Einstein and the "modern" Jazz Age, all this righteous living being carried out to laughter - equal in power and protein to anything the Chatty Cathy's say -  celebrating, somehow, escaping another day with their now-probably-overly-strobe-lighted sense of reality duct-taped intact. Just like the folks on Tee Vee.

Everyday, almost, "only a flesh wound."

The reaction to uncertainty, existing in what America, and even Martin Luther King, reminded us - no, assured us - was supposed to be a "dream". Knowing nothing, conspiracy theorists live on nightmares, only sleeping comfortably within earshot of their view. Eyes closing, head falling, trailing off mumbling the words.

And here we are.

The results speak for themselves,...
