    Why be surprised? There isn't a monument for Mahalia Jackson in fucking New Orleans!

    Hard to teach kids history, though, when we're so busy teaching them that they're disenfranchised, and held down, and that being angry and thug is keeping it "real"; that only Democrats and Obama care about them and Bush hated black people, which is why he sent Katrina into their neighborhoods.
