I think you'll find Africans created slavery, but why let the facts of history stand in the way of your racism?
And I'm sure PW will be along to try and--in her inimitable mess of a writing style--attempt to suggest history is wrong...but really, it's pretty clear to see.
Did you know, Crackers, in the late 1600's in Virginia, there were a fair number of free black men, living as property owners, married to white women (I know how much you like that last part).
But the history of slavery goes back thousands of years. Sumer, Egypt, China, India...all sort of non-white places.
But why let facts get in the way of a perfectly good racist screed?
Cody, slavery wasn't created by any one group in history -- it's been a pretty equal opportunity, widespread problem (still going on today I might add). So, in that regard, the title of the post is incorrect -- however, in this country slavery is pretty much joined at the hip with notions of white supremacy. Yes, yes, there were European indentured servants...although they weren't considered truly "white", at least the Irish weren't. There is still an element of the notion of whiteness (white Anglo-Saxon-ness perhaps?) as a hallmark of superiority. And yes, even with the knowledge that Indians were known to own slaves as well, still: but the basic conditions of the institution in this country are one of white/black. There really is no way to get around it; probably time to just quit. And maybe from there we can go on to all agree that slavery, in whatever form it has taken through the ages and in other climes, is a crappy thing...and then we can give ourselves a cookie.

*what is it with you all and the black dude/white chick stuff anyway? Is it really that important? Why the obsession on what other people are attracted to? Is it any skin off your ass? (uhm, I think not, but hey, could be wrong!) And if you must know...I dig on redheads...black guys usually don't have redhair, oh well, there's always other fish in the sea; I'm sure they aren't going to mind my individual attractions.
This Jarrett character seems to think he can write coherently. Funny. I've been reading these assaults on you Crack, for several weeks now. I understand that you are a big proponent of free speech, but what these clowns have been spewing is nothing more than hate speech, incredibly racist in nature. Now they seem to be attacking your commenters. Why do you put up with this, brother?
This Jarrett character knows he can write, actually.
He does it professionally as a matter of fact. And has taught it at the college level (and not some podunk community college either).
LOL...it's racist to disagree with a black man. I keep forgetting.
And you'd have to ask Crackers about the white woman/black man thing--but the basic facts are that he much prefers white woman and regards black women as somewhat...lesser.
You haven't read much of what he's posted over the years have you?
Sure, sure Jarrett. Whatever you say, because I am obliged to believe whatever you say because you say it, gotcha. That really gives me confidence in your assertions. LMAOROTFL!
Cody, if he happens to be attracted to white women, so what? That's his preference maybe. Why is it something worthy of commenting about so much? We all like what we like -- nobody's business but our own really.
But I am happy to see that at least you aren't being "nice" to me -- it seems more honest, really, which is good. Thanks.
And while there is nothing wrong with disagreeing with somebody; it is a bit egregious to posit one's disagreements in a fashion which leads one to believe that there might be something more than just a civil disagreement taking place.
Nice to know that you have had a fulfilling career in the profession -- what sort of writing did you teach?

No, only whites have ever enslaved anyone.
ReplyDeleteAnd black slave owners are a myth made up by racists.
Jennifer is hoping to reenact Mandingo.

Sloppy. Very sloppy.
"I've got your number."
ReplyDeleteSilly, silly anon eee mouse.
Don't expend so much energy. It's a comment page on a blog that has about 8 daily viewers.
It appears Crack is trolling his own comments now.

Crack is physically and mentally disabled. He can't "bang" anyone.
