Anyone familiar with TMR knows, I've been saying there's trouble brewing in Madison for some time:

Scott Walker, and his racist staff e-mails, were the most obvious evidence. 

Then there's the racially tone-deaf black sheriff - beloved by whites for never saying anything "black" - who's profoundly embarrassing, to everyone else, for the same reason. 

And also, there's been the numerous reports on Wisconsin's black poverty rate and segregation, the same harassment and illegal arrests of blacks we see nationwide, and much, much more. None of it by accident, all of it by default.

Taken together, for the whites of Madison to miss what's been happening there, racially - when it can easily be seen and predicted, even from a mediated distance, by TMR - is to be thoroughly detached from reality.

From what I know of the history, the place, and it's inhabitants, I can hardly be surprised that's been the case exactly,...

What Are White People Defending But A Right To Lie?

Since when is not wanting to lose your life merely a different point of view?

Ann Althouse's and her son John Althouse Cohen's mother-son racism disposal team appears to find great comfort in this Bill Clinton malarky, much like the Confederate's loved ones found joy in rumours of a win for the South:

"You know, Americans have come so far since, let's say, the era of Joe McCarthy. I mean, think about it. We're less racist. We're less sexist. We're less homophobic than we used to be. We only have one remaining bigotry. We don't want to be around anybody who disagrees with us."

Where has, how far whites have come, gotten blacks?

Naturally, all you have to do is add black Americans to the dialogue and you'll notice "we're" having less of a disagreement than white's, specifically, are still copping a pose - trying to be slippery, so as to insist white's rate of "progress" (AKA who they can stand to be around) be the status quo:

This political party is loaded with fools who should be locked in a prison or mental facility - take Republican State Senator (God, that's embarrassing to write) Phil Jensen:

   Jensen goes so far as to say that businesses should have the right to deny service based on a customer's race or religion – whether that's right or wrong, he says, can be fairly addressed by the free market, not the government.

"If someone was a member of the Ku Klux Klan, and they were running a little bakery for instance, the majority of us would find it detestable that they refuse to serve blacks, and guess what? In a matter of weeks or so that business would shut down because no one is going to patronize them," he said.

David Patton, president of the Black Hills Center for Equality, calls Jensen's argument deeply flawed.

He said that the bakery used in Jensen's example would have flourished a century ago, before the passage of civil rights legislation that helped protect African-Americans and other minority groups from discrimination.

"The free market didn't do away with slavery," Patton said.

I left the Republican party because it no longer represents my principles and values. I am a limited government conservative, yet Republicans today like big government, as long as they are in charge of it. I also don't tolerate bigotry of any kind, and today's party does. While most Republicans I've known over the years aren't bigots, they tolerate and kowtow to the few who are. The wrong voices have dominated policy debates.

During the 2012 election campaign, I came to the conclusion that the Republican party is incapable of ever winning another national election, because the tolerance of anti-gay activist and other forms of bigotry in the party prevent too many voters from even considering voting for even the Republican candidate.

Yeah, voting didn't make my list again this year, either,…

They Lost Blacks, Gays & Latinos But GOP's Not White?

They even suggest that Brigham Young actually wanted black members to be part of the church by referring to the quote, “blacks would ‘have [all] the privilege and more’ of other members in the future” from a speech in 1852, which also includes gems like, “Cain and his posterity must wear the mark which God put upon them; and his white friends may wash the race of Cain with fuller's soap every day; they cannot wash away Gods mark" (Page 2, “To The Saints”).

This view is still the driving justification behind racism against black members in multiple religious groups, including Syriac Christianity and the Southern Baptist church. Those same ideals are echoed in sermons today, but no responsibility is taken for the incongruent racial implications because they are part of the Holy Scripture, and therein lies the problem. This is especially difficult for black members of the LDS church, who’ve had to ignore the worldview where they are not worthy of attaining higher rank or ultimate salvation.” 

Remember when the Republicans were trying to christen this open racism as America's new "nice" religion or some BS? "The Mormon Moment"? We were in such rank racial waters the gag reflex needed to be adjusted.

Blacks had the problem we were told. 

I still think "open-minded" Right-Wing racists defending Mormon racists, by accusing blacks who wouldn't go along of being "bigots," was a very good example of American racists attempting to be clever:

Why Am I Blogging When You're Too Dumb For Words?

Regularly telling American blacks we're crazy really raises conservative's profile as post-racial peacemakers:

Riding The Wave: Can Rad Republicans Ever Get Real?

Along with the admonition that "Republicans would be well-served by not simply dismissing Democratic attacks on the party and its representatives as being bigoted" (to those of you who know better: Don't take the bait) this is some good advice going forward:

Democrats are losing the public trust, but Republicans have not yet earned it. Now they must demonstrate for voters why the GOP can once again be trusted with the reins of government.”

My so-called "fellow bloggers" are a trip.

For instance, last August, Robert Stacy McCain labelled "Scientology As A Criminal Conspiracy" - basically for having weird beliefs - saying:

"It’s hard to believe anyone with an IQ above room temperature could be suckered into believing the nonsense promulgated by Scientology — but then again, is it really more absurd than the beliefs of the Democrat Party?"

Clearly that all depends. Considering the similarities between Scientology and Mormonism - which RSMc backed and defended in the last election - I'd say yes, the American people thought there was something "more absurd than the beliefs of the Democrat Party" and it's name was Romney.

"Crack Emcee at The Macho Response doesn’t seem to care much for the theology of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I link his post not to endorse such anti-LDS views, but rather to remind you what kind of stuff is out there."

Yeah, that "kind of stuff." But since Scientology's feeling the heat (again) it seems Robert Stacy McCain wants to sit at the Big Boy Bigot Table and throw something "out there" himself - listen:

Did Merely Supporting A Cult Kill The Republican Party?

I kept going on and on about the importance of showing up, and that seems to have been what mattered. Why didn’t people show up?

When is Glenn Reynolds going to stop settling for being popular and start to matter? 

 

At this point, I have much more interest in Glenn Beck - who speaks truth to power when we need it most - than the hey-look-at-this/it-could-be-this-way-it-could-be-that/I'll-wait-to-see-how-the-wrongs-play-out nonsense of Glenn Reynolds. I mean, he says he'll start acting like there's an environmental crisis when the green meanies do. Well, I feel the same way about Glenn Reynolds on a whole host of other issues, that are just as important - and, as he knows, are bleeding us dry as we speak. 

You guys make jokes about it but - seriously - you are professors, and some of us expect more of you. We need more of you. Right now, in my opinion, you're not too many steps above AGW scientists, insisting your critics are the crazy ones and we should just accept that you, as gatekeepers, dish out the best information we have. It's bullshit and anyone with a functioning brain - anyone who sees through conventional wisdom - can see it. 

I think many of our online gatekeepers are a big part of why this country is having such a hard time getting moving again.

You can't say I didn't try. And I should point out, here, that Glenn Reynolds (and Ann Althouse) backed Mitt Romney and Mia Love - who I rejected - and who both lost.

But - like moving your hands in the air to talk economics - that's really no measure of anything.

You'll also notice there's a word "at this point" for a Mormon, Glenn Beck - before he went over the deep end - which should reveal all the "bigot" talk from Reynolds, Althouse, and all the rest, for the bogus blather it always was.

The entire election was simply conducted wrong, from top to bottom, by everybody - starting with not vetting Romney - and you can't win elections that way.

Facing reality is all they've got,…but they can't do that. It's too horrifying even for Ann:

A paragraph from an old Supreme Court case that feels like something some people who ought to know better have forgotten. Boldface added.

I think "people who ought to know better" should check that suggestion of "sharp differences" - like there's nothing objective we can hold them against to see what's true. For instance, remember Mitt Romney getting weasle-y about those "revelations" his cult's prophets have?

No, Ann can't mean anything like that - because that's not an accusation, but Mitt getting caught red-handed - which SHE IGNORED for the sake of politics. So, no, it's got to be something else. It's gotta be! Something somebody else said - not the candidate she was backing.

Here's a recent comment from the propaganda minister about why I stopped participating on her blog:

Sure - she's now engaged in Benghazi conspiracy theories, and during the election couldn't even stand questions about Mormonism without her spidey sense tingling. Is that the "lack of response" to which she's referring? Ahh, such innocence,....

She also must've forgotten there's a record of when I left the Althouse blog, and I made my reasons pretty clear - it was over her applauding Glenn Reynolds' threatening of BuzzFeed and the accompanying suggestion I was envious for "linky-love" - but there was no mention of Mormonism:

So, the world hasn't ended, and it is Ann Althouse who's engaged in false statement.

I didn't leave because of her "lack of response," but because of she and Reynolds' very-enthusiastic (and I've always said Nazi-like) slide into unethical behavior. As one delusional Republican channeling Ann recently said: 

“Well, I guess that’s one lawyer… I post for people to see and think about things and reflect about things. I don’t know if it’s realistic.”

Unrealistic is Althouse (and Instapundit) in a nutshell. Is Ann even aware of what goes on over there?
