I'm A Strong-Willed Man But My Patience Is Very Weak
Yikes! I can't read it. It snuck up on me and then GAH! Look, if one of you can scan this thing, and then will tell me what it says, I'll gladly celebrate you as a more tolerant person than I. Here it is - you have been warned - the rest of you close your eyes:
"Soul Mates: Do You Believe?"
I don't know if a "mind meld" with mush is even possible, but if it is, it's on y'all now,...

Life's A Mystery (Especially The Part About This Stuff)
Paris Jackson's recent suicide attempt is causing a bit of, shall we say, "soul searching":
“There is a high incidence of suicide attempts and cutting among [Jehovah's Witness] children. They’re told to go to all the meetings; they’re told Armageddon is coming; they’re told they need to go door-to-door to hand out materials. Kids with minds of their own develop problems with these demands and act out in various ways. Suicide attempts are not uncommon.”
The poor kids. "Suicide attempts are not uncommon"? Not as "uncommon" as an education on cultism, but nice to know anyway, huh? And only in Cult World™ can Americans "with minds of their own" be considered "problems," because (correct me if I'm mistaken) but, as far as I know, raising independent thinkers was supposed to be the goal of the American education system, right?
Instead we're churning out pierced and tattooed freaks, obsessed with shallow (and really bad) sex, coupled with a pointless sense of rebellion, until - like a time-released capsule - they give it all up to Jesus (or another suitable replacement) in an attempt to fill their empty, ignorant, inner lives with more of the same,...just spiced differently.
And we're not supposed to notice. We're targeted if we do, like in Logan's Run:
That's the real "problems with these demands" that "develop" out there.
That, and the fact - once they're after you - you've absolutely no protection from them what-so-ever because everybody's become so damned "tolerant" of why they're after you to begin with.
Look at how they write this stuff. Or even that they write this stuff. Like it's the most normal thing in the world to have fanatics coming to American homes, trying to convert us, so all we need is a little more education about them to make it understandable - and we more "tolerant" - as the kids keep trying to kill themselves in the shadow of their glory. (That was the Left's argument at the start of the war, it's now their argument for gay rights, and it's always been their argument for cults of every stripe - quite the trifecta.)
So we find ourselves hiding under the couch with the blinds drawn when they come around, big deal. What we won't do - under any circumstance - is stop their fanaticism.
They'll try to stop what they see as mine, though, but that's obvious:
I already know what "under any circumstance" really means,...

One Time Where There's No Cover-Up Involved
We don't know what it is about San Francisco that attracts them, but once they get there, all bets (and clothing) are off:Debating nudity with the naked guys in the Castro is like playing tennis against a brick wall. No matter what you send over the net, the return is always the same:Yea, it's more of that "larger 'California philosophy' that is relatively new in its history".
It is your fault.
You are the one who is offended, who is fretting about what 5-year-olds will think. They are free and natural. You are prudish and intolerant.
The nudie boys, who live in the Castro, can carry on this discussion for hours to push their organized cause - the Free Body Culture movement - a mumbo-jumbo philosophy about making San Francisco safe for our repressed nude selves.
Whatever.
"Whatever", indeed.

Fuck The New Civility & The Horse It Rode In On
Some people sure do need a lot of words to say "NewAge is bullshit":Contemporary Western culture’s refusal to judge goes hand-in-hand with its celebration of the therapeutic value of affirmation and boosting self-esteem. This sensibility inexorably leads to the affirmation of individual and group identities, an act which has become something of a sacred duty in recent years. It is this gesture of granting respect-on-demand which constitutes the real insult these days, since it does not actually take people seriously. It is about making people feel good about themselves rather than seriously engaging with them – and that is the real form that patronising ‘intellectual charity’ takes today.Long story short - this is why the "nice" people ain't so nice, and the so-called assholes are winning the day.
We're keeping it about as real as "real" can get.
If you talk nonsense, we're going to call it "nonsense" and that's the end of it.
You're getting nowhere with us.

The Macho Response Sincerely Hopes You're All Proud Of Yourselves (You're The Torturers Now)
What we like most is the mind-warping thought this is "sophisticated" behavior, and acting like it's normal:Our society has pulled off quite the paradoxical feat, being at once tolerant of rampant, base vulgarity and sensitive to the slightest slur. It's much like the Orwellian "doublethink," wherein one can hold two opposing ideas at the same time, believing both to be true.Martin Luther King would be so proud - NOT!
This week's cashiering of the captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise for making "raunchy" videos on the giant aircraft carrier a few years ago when he was the ship's executive officer illustrates the current extreme sensitivity to anything politically incorrect being said by someone not a member of a protected group.
Protected groups are the designated victims of things insensitive. Victim classes include blacks, Latinos, women, the handicapped, gays, lesbians, transsexuals, Native Americans and — come to think of it — everybody except white men.

Believers, Believers, Everywhere, & They Vote!
Well, well, well. This isn't exactly a shock, unless you take into account what side we're on:A recently published study on religion in America found that the country is becoming increasingly divided between those who are fervently religious on the one hand, and those who are not so religious or even hostile to religion on the other. But at the same time, the study's authors say Americans have never been more tolerant of one another.Yet every one of these geniuses thinks they can fool us into thinking they're only following their politics. Riiiight - they're only fooling themselves.
Based on a random sampling of 3,000 people from all faiths and walks of life, they found that a "God gap" has formed. Very religious Americans tend to be Republican and conservative, while more secular people tend to be progressive or vote for the Democratic party.
Instead, to us, they all look like insulting shallow idiots who assume we're as stupid as they are. Both the conservatives, because they can't stand up for American values without their "ancient teachings", and the liberals because they can't either - they just use NewAge, instead, to (what else?) fight the conservatives. Or was anybody dumb enough to think all that "Jesus was a community organizer" bullshit was either Christianity or a statement of disbelief?
Fucking losers.

Well Said (You've Got To "Believe", Right?)

"We put little stigma on bad choices, bad judgment, bad luck or bad behaviour. We are tolerant."-- Libby Purves, commenting on the post-Baby Boom world of divorce, AKA the ultimate underhanded means for female advancement - "nobody need admit or prove fault" - and one of our most salient symbols of The Times.
She adds:
"I suppose the trend had to grow after 1969 and 'no-fault' divorce: many a bitter chap will inform you that it is now possible for a strange man to annex your wife, children, house and half your money even if you never put a foot wrong."Oh, What A Wonderful World.

Discuss (Or Cat Fight) Amongst Yourselves

"Women are less tolerant of each other than men are, according to a new study which may explain why some women prefer to have a male boss.-- The Telegraph,U.K.
The research, published in the US journal Psychological Science, found that women formed a negative view of their peers much quicker than men did.
The team from Emmanuel College in Boston asked male and female college students to rate their room-mates under different scenarios.
When asked to judge how they would rate their room-mates if they carried out a single fictional act of negative behaviour, after they had been otherwise completely trustworthy, women were far more likely to be critical of them.
Men, on the other hand, were much more tolerant."

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise! (They're Gomers)

"It amazed me when I looked around and saw the reaction of all these people who considered themselves open-minded… They all thought the exact same way and I wanted to tell them 'you’re not open-minded, you’re progressive and there’s a difference'. The same people would assume that every single conservative point of view was wrong and evil. I’m not a conservative by any means, but I see value in discourse and actually listening to the other side, whether they’re wrong or right. But they wouldn’t listen at all. They were as intolerant as the people they hated.-- Christian Lander, on "people who are doing things that appear to be beneficial to the world but are essentially just being used as status symbols" and why he created "Stuff White People Like" (he noticed the Left's hypocrisy after Ann Coulter visited his college) on Spiked!
That contradiction just really irritated me, and it really stuck with me and I guess inspired some of the anger that comes out in my blog and book."
And - hey! - does this sound familiar?:
"...Behind their often conceited struggle for uniqueness there is, paradoxically, a desire to conform. These two desires are not easily united, and the impossible pursuit of being an individual while at the same time fitting in leads to a particularly angsty, narcissistic, snobby, duplicitous and guilt-ridden personality type."Oh yea: that's my cultish NewAgers!!!

Nazis/NewAgers: It's About The Will To Power

"The Left uses Western society’s admirable desire not to offend to bludgeon competing ideas and arguments. Inconvenient facts are ridiculed as “insensitive.” Refusal to go along with the multicultural agenda, for example, is cast as a sign of backwardness and bigotry. We’re told we must have a frank conversation about race, but when conservatives take up the challenge, they are immediately demonized for the insensitivity of their honesty.-- Jonah Goldberg, taking the long-way-home to voice a TMR pet peeve - that NewAgers take kindness as a sign of weakness - in the National Review.
This is will-to-power masquerading as tolerance. This sort of thing needs to be resisted, because there is no end to where thinking like this can lead."
