America - And The World's - NewAge Nazi Reality Check (In Black And White)

Politics lives downstream from culture.

Yes, Andrew, but grasping reality is hard for most right now - I talk to people. Because of my adventures with a NewAge Nazi wife, it's just not that hard for me. Don't worry: I'll get it all down for prosperity.

How multiple wars, and "The X-Files", wound-up post-9/11 America, leading to the left's "Truther" movement (which started the whole "er"-thing). That was before Donald Trump's "Birther" claim about President Barack Obama proved - not something, equally as insane, like Donald Trump is a racist - but (danger upon danger) the whole nation had gotten sprung on conspiracy theories.

Especially Ta-Nehisi Coates.

The left engages in 'projection': They accuse you of doing what they're guilty of.

Yes, Andrew, all this, I, too, discovered just by talking to people: 

“This is their best chance to put a stake through Trump’s political future,” she said. “If they don’t take it, Trump is going to control this party for 10 years.” 

Under Trump’s influence, the GOP will become the party of the QAnon conspiracy theory-supporting Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.).  It’s “not just dangerous for the Republican Party,” she cautioned, but “an existential threat to the country to have one of the two major political parties controlled by people who are spreading conspiracy theories.” 

“And I’m not talking about Marjorie Taylor Greene,” Longwell clarified. “I’m talking about (House GOP Minority Leader) Kevin McCarthy and (Florida GOP Rep.) Matt Gaetz and so many others in Congress who voted to object to a free and fair election, who told voters that it was stolen from them, who followed Donald Trump and it led to a violent attack on the Capitol.”

Everyone is (obviously) compartmentalizing a lot these days, to forget "The Big Creep" was the American leader who unleashed the conspiracy-laden world of "Alternative Facts" on America, when he opened the "Office of Alternative Medicine" for the left's freaks (Like Sen. Tom Harkin) who didn't trust Science. When President Bill Clinton made no demand for facts or evidence - but only the promotion of all things NewAge and crazy - the world was, literally, off to the races. And, it's been off it's rocker, ever since.

That's how Steve Jobs lost his life: slow suicide. No one could talk him out of it. Bill Clinton certainly never tried.

It had all gotten so insane, no one - around the world - even registered it as madness, that Barack Obama campaigned for the Presidency of the United States with the queen of con artists, conspiracy theorists, quacks, and criminals, Oprah Winfrey. They seemed proud of it.

THAT was when life and politics had become a (dangerous) cartoon, and - here was the danger, already, right from the start - few Americans had even registered what kind of "change" they were actually voting for.

And, there's been no one around, with the balls to warn them.

Over the years, this “backfire effect” has reduced the blog to no longer researching much of anything, but simply trying to navigate this unstable terrain of viciously backwards thinking in the modern world, for self-preservation - and we're losing. I’m cool with that: I don’t support what I don’t like anymore than anyone else will. But I still need facts.

I've always found it rather amazing to hear respectable conservatives pining for the days of William F. Buckley, whom they see as the epitome of the sober conservative intellectual. This is hard for me to take. This is the same Buckley who backed segregation, backed Apartheid, and greeted the Civil Rights Movement by saying, "The great majority of the Negroes of the South who do not vote do not care to vote and would not know for what to vote if they could."

Here is the intellectual father of modern conservatism, standing athwart history. Black history.

The problem extends back to the Civil War, where conservatives have long enjoyed a cozy alliance with people who insist the Civil War wasn't about slavery, that it was prosecuted by a tyrannical Lincoln, and that black people fought for the Confederacy in untold numbers. It's telling that the Republican Party's idea of an alternative candidate was Ron Paul—the ultimate Lost Causer, who denounces Lincoln as a man who went to war to "get rid of the intent of the republic."

Among historians of the Civil War, the sort of views expressed on the right have zero currency. If you really believe, as Paul does, that the Civil War wasn't about slavery, you should expect about as much respect among the experts of the war as global warming denialists receive from those who study climate change.”

Realizing you're wrong - and admitting it - are two totally different things

Turning wine to water. Whites DO things to us. Damaging things. Long-lasting things that, because whites don't want them to (because whites don't want themselves to ever be told what to do) might never go away. America's history of white racism is centuries old, and only recently riding shotgun to the lying, white-picket-fence, Mom and apple pie narrative they're desperate to now maintain, with the psychological torture they claim to deplore. Their idiotic pride is such, they must never change, especially when wrong. "Massa" and "Miss Anne" must live.

I'm not sure why whites still believe they're fooling anyone, with their sick attempts to turn the oppressed into the oppressors, when we tell them - directly - it'll never work. We will press on. Until no one buys this bullshit but themselves:

My taking conservatives seriously on race was a major mistake, because (among things) I found myself surrounded by people who openly ridicule blacks (after 400 years of openly ridiculing blacks) while admitting they go along with the most obviously trivialising racist tropes, like race as a "card" blacks play and historical Civil Rights figures being "hustlers". Whites, outnumbering blacks 6 to 1, are comfortable thinking they can wave their hands and declare reality (and morality) doesn’t exist except as they say. That it's normal to see a boy as a demon. That "loosies," or cigars, are crimes worthy of death. That they must rarely seek justice, stay as ignorant to history as their own bliss allows, and - because they're uncomfortable with the truth - stay so openly hostile they never have to hear a word of it. But we won't stop. We know this evil. Eric Garner’s “Please, just leave me alone” are words that could’ve been spoken by MLK.

If, as Chris Rock said, these are "the nicest white people that America has ever produced," then we have a problem. I don't know how to talk to people who are this lost. Who pray to racist distraction over considering the substance of our lives. Who've "lost the plot," and in such a general way.

Right now whites are mourning the death of The New Republic, a 100 year old magazine, with no blacks, that promoted racism - whites didn’t notice anything wrong.

1000s of Nazis were allowed to live in America, with Social Security included, while whites discriminated against American blacks up to and including raping and hanging - and it still hasn't occurred to the whites I know that juxtapositioning was wrong.

Blacks also weren't allowed to vote until 100 years after the laws were on the books - while white folks didn’t notice the wrong and even had to be urged, by MLK at his most eloquent, to see it.

And, today, Sean Hannity (as ignorant as the day is long) is "leading" televised conversations on race - and few whites see anything terribly wrong. They just don't see it.

I'm watching white men insisting, when they are falsely accused of rape by white women (Lena Dunham and Rolling Stone) it’s an outrage, while - historically - that's the reality white men and women have been foisting on black men for centuries. And they just don't see how they look as they battle and cry. They just don't see it.

The lynching photo on my last post went with a story about a white pr firm that didn't know the racist history behind the name they chose, "Strange Fruit." My last post was a reflection of my frustration: “I honestly don’t know what to say.” But then, I’m not a writer: I’m an artist-turned-blogger, trapped in a seemingly impossible situation created by others.

And so it'll go, until the whole God-damned bunch falls,...
